List of DirecTV Channels

[edit]

There used to be a page dedicated to this but it no longer exists. Why not? I thought having a summary page with past, current, and potential future channels, with notes, was very useful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gutch220 (talkcontribs) 01:04, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because the available channels are country-dependant (I know for sure) and, perhaps, state or province-dependant (I don't know).

Hi. I made a print-friendly list of DirecTV channels for the USA. I'm wondering if I can add an external link to it please on the article page? If you check out the DISH Network talk page, re: external link proposal, you'll see a previous conversation where I asked permission and it was granted. The advantage is to see all the channels at once, old-school style lol. Thanks for considering! PS: I'm currently uploading the full list to my website and once done, I'll share the link (however, for the time being, my website is [https://printtvchannels.com printtvchannels.com]) GebienD (talk) 06:55, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Company name - MOTION TO USE THE REAL NAME.

[edit]

Despite the "reasonable" justification to preserve the camel case spelling to help people pronounce the name of the company corrrectly, many people get confused about the REAL name of the company. We can get the same effect by adding a phonetic transcription of the name of the company (as it is done for other WP articles) instead of having a WRONG name for a WP article.

It is registered as DIRECTV, LLC. (https://publicfiles.fcc.gov/dbs-profile/directv/), and the official web site always spells it as DIRECTV (as of now). I cannot tell if, at some point in the past, it was spelled as DirecTV but, even if that was the case (no pun intended), it would be outdated. So, it doesn't make any sense to be so stubborn.

I know for sure this article is extremely misleading. Thanks to WP, lots of people (including me) thought WP was right. Some people who now work for DIRECTV, were confused, too and, as part of their training, they found out that WP is wrong.

We, as contributors, cannot let our reputation be hurt. We must strive to be ACCURATE.

Thanks!

Corporate image in other countries.

[edit]

It would be useful to present other logos and banners as part of this article.

These are other markets where the brand is present:

Power

[edit]

It would be nice if the article explained how much power, or more specifically power per TV channel, the satellites transmit. This is a useful thing for people to know. Gah4 (talk) 22:56, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That would probably be more appropriate at DirecTV satellite fleet, not here, which is an overview article of the entire company, if it's appropriate at all, which I doubt. BilCat (talk) 02:19, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

proposed: updating to include section on loss of customers to 'cable cutting' and switching over to streaming services

Q: anyone else deem it useful to mention the impact of streaming services? loss of customers? impact on revenue stream?

Subscribers

[edit]

How many subscribers are there now? 2001:9E8:CAC7:B300:BC8A:DCE2:49AE:F8BB (talk) 09:41, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
