Old talk

[edit]

This has been "corrected" to be wrong. The term has been standardized in ecology to refer to the gigantic biome stretching from the North Pole down into Central America.

What does one do when the right thing to do is simply reverse the bad edit?

Absolutely. As long as you leave a note here in the talk page about why you've reverted it, and even better if you can point to a source. --LDC

Central America is definitely included; just do a search for "nearctic site:.edu" on Google. I will revert. AxelBoldt

It is giving me joy to see all these grow, who ever you are (sad but happy smile) FirmLittleFluffyThing

Pronunciation

How do you pronounce Nearctic? RJFJR 20:10, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Needs more maps

[edit]

...especially the four or five areas of the WWF's "Major ecological regions" that take up so much space. ...Presuming they are (not mere Wiki-Clubby creations) widely accepted and cited....are they??)

How many?

[edit]

Maybe i'm just not understanding, but Nearctic ecozone says there are nine ecozones, and Palearctic ecozone says there are eight; one of these is incorrect? Cheers, LindsayHello 08:04, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering the same thing, as most of the other articles count eight. Erobinson55 (talk) 23:22, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Internal map needed

[edit]

We now have a map that locates the Nearctic in the world, but need one that shows its internal divisions. -- Beland (talk) 17:23, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Endemic families

[edit]

Two families are endemic to the Nearctic, the pronghorns (Antilocapridae) and the mountain beaver (Aplodontiidae)[1]. 24.150.136.254 (talk) 18:16, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Etymology

[edit]

Is there anyway we could add an etymology? -- Catchpoke (talk) 22:50, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
