Irene Gallo is Associate Publisher of Tor.com and Creative Director of Tor Books. She graduated from Cooper Union in 1993, and starting working for the science fiction and fantasy publisher Tor Books shortly thereafter. She has been their Art Director since 1994. She is also the Associate Publisher of Tor.com, a non-fiction website and fiction imprint of Tor. Artwork for Tor and Tor.com has won numerous industry awards. In 2016, Gallo was the recipient of the Richard Gangel Award for Art Direction by the Society of Illustrators. She has won multiple Chesley Awards for Best Art Director, and has won two World Fantasy Special Award—Professional.
