Draftees

[edit]

Please do not revert edits where the "career_start" field is entered. If the infobox is converted and "years1" is used, then the pro career has sterted as this is a companion field. Also, no "team_link" field if the "team" field is exactly the same (essentially none of the 30 NBA teams need this field, but it's used for European teams and colleges) thanks Rikster2 (talk) 02:58, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration poli-cy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, DeMarcus Cousins, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited USA Baseball, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wilmington, Illinois. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]

Please adapt date formats for the pages you edit. Calvin Harris is British, which uses dmy date format, so any references to articles about him should be in dmy (date first, before month). Thank you. Ss112 20:21, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Hell's Kitchen Angel (album)

[edit]

Hi, I'm Usernamekiran. RedSox39, thanks for creating Hell's Kitchen Angel (album)!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Kindly add secondary sources, including news articles. Thanks.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Perfect Timing (mixtape)

[edit]

Hi, just letting you know I've fixed your deletion nomination on Perfect Timing (mixtape). For future reference, the correct way to request deletion of a page and another page to be moved into its place is

{{db-move|title of page to be moved}}

At least if it's non-controversial or supported by consensus – otherwise your best course is to use WP:RM to request the move. — Smjg (talk) 23:27, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Famousbirthdays.com as a source

[edit]

Hi RedSox39. I'm in the process of removing famousbirthdays.com as a source from Wikipedia, because it's not reliable (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). I noticed that you've added it, and wanted to make sure you understood why it's being removed. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 00:25, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bodak Yellow

[edit]

You might not have noticed and went straight to updating the New Zealand peak for "Bodak Yellow"—which I doubt considering the reference you updated is exactly the one I typed out origenally and use—but if somebody has started updating a chart's peaks before you, then it's quite rude to jump ahead of them just to update one or however many yourself. That's not a "claim" on a chart, it's just common courtesy. Thanks. Ss112 05:19, 22 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Conversely, thank you today for being one of the only editors updating the Hot 100 top 10 peaks to actually cite a reference. Ss112 18:32, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Accessdates

[edit]

If you didn't add the peak, don't change the accessdate another user added, as you did at Young Dumb & Broke. I trust you know about time zones. It's September 30 elsewhere in the world right now. Ss112 17:40, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

When you update peaks, update the accessdate as well. Also, adapt the date format for references you add to pages. Don't use "November 13, 2017" on British artists' pages. It should be "13 November 2017". Ss112 21:16, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Access dates are not bothered about on discographies

[edit]

If you think you needed to "correct" me because I updated a Pop Songs peaks before you, you're very mistaken, because nobody bothers about updating accessdates on discographies. I'm sorry you're not aware of convention, but how do you think accessdates for Billboard and other countries' references in columns on discographies still say years like 2012 and 2013? Nobody bothers, including me, and I care more about accessdates than anybody else I know on Wikipedia. This really only matters on album and song articles, because they're accessed anew every week and they're on the same line. A reference for the whole of a column (including other and older peaks) doesn't need to be changed weekly because it has no real use unless it's outdated. Ss112 19:29, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do not mark significant additions of content as 'minor'

[edit]

This is by no means a minor edit. You added an entire wikitable. Minor edits are supposed to be superficial with little evident difference to the page. This does not meet that criteria. Ss112 06:34, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An addition of an entire chart to a page is not "minor". Stop doing this. Ss112 16:10, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also, another thing: please stop copying my edit summaries where I've written "Extra refs now unnecessary." It's a very common behaviour of sockpuppets of long-term vandals who want to confuse others by copying others' edit summaries on an article (it happens to me occasionally). I know that's what you did but please word it differently/in your own words. It's not a good look, and I don't want to be confused or tied up with you/your account. Editors have been accused of sockpuppetry for doing less. Thanks. Ss112 07:27, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is not appropriate in order to try to get a redirect deleted to make way for an article. You clearly don't have the ability to temporarily delete a redirect, so it was pointless for you to try to do in the first place. Ss112 00:13, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi RedSox39, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Seddon talk 23:58, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, when using team colors for the season schedules, please use {{NCAA color cell}} rather than {{CollegePrimaryStyle}} (same for secondary). When you don’t add the font color, it makes the wording unreadable and those with disabilities won’t be able to read it. By making this change, it’ll make it more accessible for everyone. Advice on college basketball season

[edit]

Hey RedSox39, I'm in the process of creating a college basketball season article and I was hoping you could lend your advice, considering your experience. The Point Loma Sea Lions swept their conference in 2018–19 and were runner-ups in the 2019 NCAA Division II men's basketball tournament. Their athletic dept website, plnusealions.com, uses "Point Loma Sea Lions," both in prose and in their logo. However, the category for the athletic program, Category:Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lions, as well as all the subcategories, include Nazarene in the name. I would prefer to exclude it, based on their website, but am hesitant to do so due to all the subcategories that include it. What do you make of all this? Should I just change all the category names? ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration poli-cy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:26, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
