Hello, Wuchrist, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Please don't assess articles

[edit]

Nice to see you here, but to assess articles you really need a lot more experience. Doug Weller talk 05:27, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wuchrist: please note: Doug reverted this edit of yours at Talk:Chinese Exclusion Act. See also the next section below. Mathglot (talk) 05:54, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Content assessment

[edit]

(edit conflict) Hello, Wuchrist,

I reverted this edit of yours at Gender binary. Normally, assessing the importance and class ratings of articles is something done by the Version 1.0 Editorial Team. Normally, it's made up up of editors with a lot more experience writing articles themselves, and after learning and following the standards of Wikipedia:Content assessment. I hope you'll enjoy your course-based editing here, and stay around longer as an editor, even after your course has ended. At that point, if you are still interested, check out the Editorial Team for more information about how you can join their efforts in Content assessment. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 05:41, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notes on "Homophobia in Ethnic Minority Communities"

[edit]

The article provides a clear understanding of the topic and is written in a simple and straight-forward manner. The article does a good job in really bringing in the complexities that arise with this issue from different perspectives, explained in a concise and elemental way. I would suggest to add specific sections about the causes, effects and other vital sections to have a more general global focus throughout. This would not only make the article feel more important and complete, but would also make it more approachable for a variety of demographics. Good job!Ennis Architect (talk) 05:13, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May. As a member of WikiProject LGBT studies, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.

We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.

More information, and registration details, at QW2021.--Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group 03:01, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
