We will be accepting applications for the Business Administration Program for the following Research Interest/Concentrations listed below for Fall 2025. We do not accept applications nor admit PhD students for the Spring term. All PhD programs in Gatton College begin in the Fall term.
Finance & Quantitative Methods will not be accepting applications for Fall 2025.
Marketing and Supply Chain Research will not be accepting applications for Fall 2025.
As a student in our PhD in Business Administration program, you will be prepared for successful careers in higher education, at government institutes, “think-tanks”, business corporations and financial institutions.
The University of Kentucky's PhD in Business Administration program is offered in the following four concentration areas: Accounting, Finance & Quantitative Methods, Management, and Marketing & Supply Chain. When applying, please select your research interest (concentration area) so that your application is forwarded to the correct program.
PhD in Business Administration
Students in our PhD in Economics program study with faculty who are experts in their fields, collaborate with other bright and capable students, and will obtain a vast amount of knowledge in their respective field.
The first year focuses on core theory: microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory, mathematical methods and econometrics. Students demonstrate their proficiency in micro- and macroeconomics through comprehensive exams taken in June after their first year.
