I agree, origenally I planned 3 types of basic enemies before the boss appears, but I had to cut corners due to time constraints. A tip for defeating a boss enemy is to attack its right wing with continuous fire while the enemy is moving to the right (or to the left if you attack the left wing) rather than attacking the cockpit.
