Herbert Ira London (March 6, 1939 – November 10, 2018)[1] was an American conservative activist, commentator, author, and academic. London was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He was a Republican.

London was the president of the Hudson Institute from 1997 to 2011. He was a conservative columnist for The Washington Times. London was president of the London Center for Policy Research.[2] He was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.[3]

London was the Conservative nominee for Governor of New York in 1990, but lost the election to Mario Cuomo.

London died in Manhattan from complications of heart failure on November 10, 2018 at the age of 79.[4]
