Thomas Müntzer (c. 1489 – 27 May 1525) was a German preacher of the early Reformation. He became also a leader of the uprising well known as the German Peasant's War.

Theology of Muntzer combines spiritual elements, apocalyptic elements, and social elements. He believed that the Roman Catholic Church, with which he had quarrels, was similar to the Whore of Babylon from the Book of Revelation.[1]
