collected during TAO cruises are now available to download.

June 2007:
NDBC released a major upgrade of the TAO web
site. The web pages differ from its predecessor in
layout and access while providing real-time database
driven contents to the public. NDBC hopes the upgrade
provides quicker and easier means of providing
quality controlled data to the public with the
following features overhauled and redesigned:
- TAO Array Daily Status
Graphics
- T he
daily status graphics are automatically generated
according to the data received in real-time and
rendered on top of the web page in
mornings.
- Drill-down Navigation for Data
Exploration
- U sers
can explore a site by clicking on the array status
graphics. The active primary deployment page will
show deployment metadata, sensor status, and sensor
data. This web page will also display links to
historical deployments and active co-located
deployments.
- New Site Data Plots
- On
selected site, data plots are rendered for all
configured sensors with a selectable time range.
For each sensor, plots with different time ranges
are available when the mouse is placed over desired
small image icons. For data comparison purposes,
users may select up to four different sites to plot
each site's corresponding sensor data. The plots
can be grouped by measurement types or by sites
with desired time ranges.
- Latitude vs. Longitude
Plots
- New
Lat-Lon 5-day/Monthly plots are available with the
same new look and feel as the site data
plots.
- Depth Section Plots
- New
Depth Section 5-day/Monthly plots are available
with the same new look and feel as the site data
plots.
- Time Section Plots
- New
Time Section 5-day/Monthly plots are available with
the same new look and feel as the site data
plots.
- Data Assembly Center Management
System
- Although not visible to the public, the
NDBC Data Assembly Center (DAC) Management System
is used by data analysts to support the quality
control of the TAO data on a 24 by 7 basis. The
dynamic web pages and data contents are generated
from the underlying databases in the
system.
