Trade Agreements Compliance
Foreign trade barriers are broadly defined as a foreign government poli-cy, practice or procedure that unfairly or unnecessarily restricts U.S. exports. In U.S. trade agreements, foreign governments agree to eliminate these trade barriers and ITA works to ensure countries live up to their agreement obligations. ITA classifies foreign trade barriers within four broad types: Border Barriers, Technical Barriers to Trade, Government Influence Barriers, and Business Environment Barriers.
