    As part of her job, Jennifer supports HRD's annual Field Program by coordinating HRD scientists travel and accommodation plans. The uncertainties of when and where storms will develop often requires her to accomplish these tasks at a moment's warning. During the 2013 furlough period, whe was called back to duty to support missions into Tropical Storm Karen. On very short notice, she had to prepare all travel logistics manually and managed to accomplish this within four hours endsuring the success of the deployment.

    Because of his expertise in aircraft observations, Robert Rogers volunteered to lead NOAA's 2010 Hurricane Field Program, involving scientists from various line offices, with the goal of improving tropical cyclone intensity forecasting through the NOAA Intensity Forecasting Experiment. He also took a leading role in coordinating these efforts with other experiments during the season, including those involving NASA, the National Science Foundation, academia, and international agencies. Dr. Rogers was responsible for compiling and publishing the Hurricane Field Program plan, coordinating the various efforts amongst the operational and research teams, making sure the aircraft were adequately staffed with scientists, and making sure the data were available to researchers and forecasters both in real-time and after the season. While leading NOAA's efforts, he also served as associate editor for two journals, chaired a key workshop committee, and conducted and published groundbreaking research.
