I believe in the power of gathering as a community, the spiritual sacredness of the union of marriage, and honoring traditions.

Meet your planner

Hi, I’m Julie

As an event planner, I bring a unique and fascinating background to my creative projects. Excelling in the academic arena (graduated Summa Cum Laude in Creative Advertising, University of Kentucky) I gained acceptance into the Disney College Program. Interacting with guests from around the world, I worked at Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

Inspired by the positivity of my experience in Orlando, I continued to bring magic overseas in Shanghai, China while teaching at Disney English. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach in Shanghai where I was awarded 2nd Place in the National Top10 Best Performance Prize for Foreign Teacher out of 26 Disney English Centers.

Featuring my favorite Disney couple and the Emporium, where I worked at Disney World in Orland, FL.

My passion for event planning started young with planning themed birthday celebrations and continuing at the Lexington Country Club as the Event Coordinator in planning children’s events, weddings, golf tournaments, and holiday events. Family Fun and Learning Nights and Carnegie Classics at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning sparked my interest in community outreach events.

Returning to my Southern roots, Events by Julie, LLC was launched on April 30th, 2019. Over the years, I’ve planned community events as large as 4,500 guests to intimate weddings as small as 40 guests. My business has traveled out of state to plan special events in Round Rock, Texas and to explore areas all over Kentucky with weddings and car events. I love to bring people together to showcase their talents to create magical experiences.

I bring a calming presence and devoted conscientiousness to all my events and clients. I believe in the power of gathering as a community, the spiritual sacredness of the union of marriage, and honoring traditions. Gratitude is my foundation of success and I’m thankful to do what I love every day.

Drawing on my Disney experiences and vast travel to distant lands, I hold a vision for creating Magic – one community event, one wedding, and one special event at a time.

WHAT SETS ME APART

  • JOY

I believe in staying in the present moment. Each step in the event planning process can be met with stress or ease. I believe this is a choice. So I am here to always remind you to choose JOY β€” the joy of being in the creative process of planning a celebration and being wholeheartedly in the present celebrating it!

  • INTEGRITY

My grandfather Chuck taught me to be true to my word. I am intentional with my commitments and I prioritize following through and collaborating with vendors who share this value.

  • SERVICE

I believe in giving back to the community and nourishing the community with events that are welcoming, beautiful and inspire creativity and connection.

A Little More About Me

I’m a fan of sweet tea and pink tulips. I believe in jean jackets and celebrating traditions. I delight in envisioning and actualizing events into exquisite reality.

  • Sweet tea with lots of lemon! Sun Tea is best!

For a night out, Gimlet. Cheers!

  • Miami, Miami, Miami!

The vibrant colors, clear blue ocean, Cuban coffee, and all the graffiti art - I love exploring this city.

    1. During college, my favorite class at the University of Kentucky was on fairy tales & folklore. I particularly loved the Norwegian fairytale, East of the Sun and West of the Moon. When I visit other countries, I tend to pickup a book on their own fairytale stories.

    2. It has been a standing tradition of mine to watch Casablanca every Valentine’s Day! I’m a romantic at heart and love old, classic films. It’s a must see on the big screen at The Kentucky Theatre!

    3. If I’m not planning weddings and hosting themed dinner parties, you’ll find me in the kitchen! I love playing my country music and trying out a new recipe!
