This report focuses on a burgeoning sector of capital access that is currently considered an alternative source of capital, commonly referred to as Financial Technology (FinTech). The report recognizes many forms of alternative sources of capital and highlights their unique advantages including ease of access to credit, speed, and more inclusive financial services accessible to MBEs, particularly for MBEs that may have been overlooked by traditional lenders.
