About the Show
As climate change imposes a disturbing new normal on our global landscapes, scientist and National Geographic Explorer Alizé Carrère goes around the world where remarkable examples of adaptation have become the bedrock of survival and growth. Carrère’s investigation reveals the truly inspiring work being done by people who are forced to confront environmental crises. These displays of creative innovations offer hope and inspiration as we imagine and transform our shared future on this planet.
Learn More About the Producer: Pacific Islanders In Communications
The mission of Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) is to support, advance, and develop Pacific Island media content and talent that results in a deeper understanding of Pacific Island history, culture, and contemporary challenges.
In keeping with the mission, PIC helps Pacific Islander stories reach national audiences through funding support for productions, training and education, broadcast services, and community outreach.
Pacific Islanders in Communications provides producer training. We work with independent producers to create and distribute programs about Pacific Islanders that bring new audiences to public television, advance issues, and represent diverse voices and points of view not usually seen on public or commercial television.
PIC was established in Honolulu in 1991 as a national non-profit media arts organization. PIC is a member of the National Multicultural Alliance (NMCA), which collectively addresses the need for programming that reflects America's growing ethnic and cultural diversity.
