Firefighters and first responders can educate their communities about the potential fire risks of lithium-ion battery-powered devices with the Underwriters Laboratories’ Fire Safety Research Institute safety campaign: Take C.H.A.R.G.E. of Battery Safety.

The campaign is focused on educating the public on how they can protect themselves and their property. The campaign is based at BatteryFireSafety.org, which features a toolbox for first responders with a set of downloadable materials to use in public education and interaction with local media. The site also includes a public service announcement and other free resources for the public and first responders.
