Clouds will be on the increase tonight, but we will remain dry. Overnight lows will be milder than recent nights due to the cloud cover and south winds.
Rain showers and chances for thunderstorms return Monday through Tuesday night as an upper level storm system affects the area. The greatest chance of precipitation occurs late Monday night into Tuesday afternoon. Areas of drizzle may develop ahead of the rain showers during the day on Monday. Severe weather is not expected.
In general, rainfall amounts next Monday and Tuesday are expected to be greatest from far eastern Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas, where 0.5-1.5 inches of rain will be common. The greater potential for locally heavy rainfall is occurs late Monday night into Tuesday.
