Institutional Research - Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH)

Institutional Research

ASPPH collects and analyzes data in support of academic public health. ASPPH and our members conduct research to inform stakeholders on trends in academic public health and the public health workforce.

We use data from several sources, including institutional reporting, the SOPHAS centralized application service, the National Center for Education Statistics, and various surveys or one-time data collections. This data helps us to:

  • Assess the strengths and opportunities of the academic public health enterprise.
  • Monitor the diversity and training of the student and workforce pipeline.
  • Enumerate and characterize the public health workforce.

Institutional Reporting and Research

ASPPH collects a rich array of data spanning the academic public health student pathway from admissions to graduate outcomes and the associated faculty, staff, as well as school and program salaries and finances.

ASPPH conducts institutional research to monitor trends in education for public health, support members’ benchmarking activities and decision-making, and guide advocacy activities. Become a member today to explore this valuable data through interactive data analytics, reports, and expert insights via MyASPPH

Custom Reports and Consultations

Custom reports and consultations drive data-informed decision-making through collaboration with ASPPH staff. Consultations may include research, benchmarking, presentations, or training focused on strategic planning, admissions planning, curriculum development, CEPH accreditation, and more. Consultations are available to ASPPH members and non-members. Member pricing is available.

Conduct Institutional Research

ASPPH and our members publish research using data on academic public health. Researchers are welcome to submit a concept proposal following the ASPPH Guidelines for Using ASPPH Data for Research. To learn more about the ASPPH data sources available for research and the process for submitting a proposal, contact ASPPH. Researchers are encouraged to set up an appointment with ASPPH Research staff to discuss the proposed project.

Note: Student researchers must have a faculty/administrator advisor to conduct research.
