ASPPH is pleased to offer recent graduates from our member schools and programs of public health an exciting opportunity to gain environmental health experience at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 ASPPH/EPA Environmental Health Fellowship Program. The deadline to apply is 11:59 PM ET, Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

The ASPPH/EPA Environmental Health Fellowship Program offers outstanding opportunities for early-career public health professionals by enabling them to train at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on high-priority environmental and public health issues. Program participants will train closely under nationally recognized experts within the premier environmental health agency in the world. The EPA leads the nation’s environmental science, research, education, and assessment efforts while working to protect our health and our environment.

Fellowships will be based at various EPA offices, most of which are in the Washington, DC area, but may also be in any of EPA’s laboratories or regional offices throughout the country. The fellowship positions are full-time training opportunities for a one-year period (estimated to start October 1, 2025). Access detailed program information and application instructions.

To be eligible for this program, applicants must have received their Masters or Doctorate degree prior to the beginning of the fellowship (no later than August 2025) or within the last five years (no earlier than May 2020). Graduate degrees must come from an ASPPH member graduate school or program of public health. All applicants must be US citizens or hold a visa permitting permanent residence (“Green Card”) in the US to be eligible for the fellowship program.

A webinar, ASPPH Fellowship Opportunities for 2025, will also be held on January 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET. During the webinar, ASPPH staff will highlight this year’s fellowship positions at both the EPA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Questions may be directed via email to ASPPH’s Applied Learning & Training Programs at TrainingPrograms@ASPPH.org.
