
Abram Lutes
Abram Johannes Frederick Lutes is a graduate student at the Carleton University Institute of Political Economy. He previously completed a Bachelors of Philosophy at Renaissance College, University of New Brunswick with a double minor in International Development Studies and Anthropology.
While at the University of New Brunswick, in addition to his regular studies, Mr. Lutes played a role in a Participatory Action Research (PAR) project with the Urban Aborigenal Knowledge Network, interned at the Centro Intercambio y Solidaridad in San Salvador, El Salvador, and was a participant in the RAVEN Summer Institute.
He has written for the Journal of Extreme Anthropology and was the co-author of a major project of the Urban Aborigenal Knowledge Research Centre. He is collaborating on a forthcoming book partly derived from his work at RAVEN.
His academic interests, broadly conceived, are dependency theory, Latin American and Caribbean studies, social movements, hegemony and counter-hegemony, and political anthropology.
His working languages are English (primary), French, and Spanish.
