The therapeutic space approach is an architectural concept that emphasizes the interaction of psy... more The therapeutic space approach is an architectural concept that emphasizes the interaction of psychological and physiological elements in order to improve the wellbeing of patients through utilizing the functions of the built environment. It is necessary to further research into the connection between depression and the concept of therapeutic space is required. Therefore, this research identified the needs of people suffering from depression related to therapeutic space. Method used analysis content of three theories and comparative content of them. The of therapeutic space theories are compared consist of Chrysikou, Jordan, and Liddicoat. The results of the comparison of the three theories are modified as the guidelines theory suitable for considering in designing of therapeutic space in the rehabilitation center for depression disorder by integrated harmony with nature.

Meningkatnya jumlah pengguna angkutan umum massal dan sistem transportasi massal yang belum baik ... more Meningkatnya jumlah pengguna angkutan umum massal dan sistem transportasi massal yang belum baik di Jakarta menimbulkan kebutuhan berupa prasarana yang dapat menggabungkan beberapa angkutan umum massal ke dalam suatu sistem integrasi. Salah satu prasarana yang memiliki potensi untuk mengintegrasikan angkutan umum massal adalah Stasiun Manggarai. Saat ini, ketersediaan prasarana tersebut belum memadai dan belum memperhatikan kebutuhan pengguna. Selain itu, adanya sistem integrasi pada prasarana dapat memicu disorientasi pengguna. Oleh karena itu, timbul gagasan perencanaan Stasiun Manggarai sebagai Stasiun Terintegrasi Antarangkutan Umum Massal dengan pendekatan Wayfinding. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan prinsip wayfinding, membuat sebuah ruang dapat dinavigasi secara efektif, sebagai suatu pendekatan Stasiun Manggarai. Menurut Gibson, prinsip wayfinding memiliki dua aspek, yaitu strategi penerapan (konsep distrik, konsep jalan, dan penghubung) dan faktor utama (layout, landmark, penanda, bentuk, dan warna). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif berupa observasi tapak dan studi literatur terkait wayfinding. Kedua informasi tersebut dikaji untuk menentukan aplikasi prinsip wayifinding yang tepat dalam Stasiun Manggarai. Artikel ini menyajikan hasil pembahasan komprehensif penerapan prinsip wayfinding menurut David Gibson pada Stasiun Manggarai. Pembahasan tersebut berisi penerapan dari masing-masing prinsip wayfinding, baik pada kegiatan, respon tapak, maupun aspek arsitektural lainnya yang nantinya diterapkan secara lebih lanjut dalam proses desain Stasiun Manggarai.

These movements lead to a meeting between people indicating opportunities to know and to admit the existence of each other and discover each other’s nature through observations and conversations. This is called `passive contact`. This research is conducted to test the passive contacts that happen in settlement using space syntax method and then compare it with direct observation. Space syntax works objectively without involving goals and motivation, assuming nothing about the individual and their cognitive capacity explicitly, despite human are moving and socializing to another directed by their cognition. Gunung Sewu in Wonogiri Regency has been recognized by UNESCO with its designation as a Global Ge... more Gunung Sewu in Wonogiri Regency has been recognized by UNESCO with its designation as a Global Geopark Natural Heritage. The recognition is based on its karst formation which considered to have universal value therefore needs to be protected. The recognition is a significant capital for tourism development. However, this global geopark is still underdeveloped in Wonogiri area. To plan tourism development in Wonogiri area which has been marginalized in decades in tourism development, we use space syntax tool. This tool which is developed in University College London has a strength in analyzing spatial configuration that can help predict human spatial behavior. The results show that the distribution of Karst formations in Gunung Sewu, Wonogiri Regency has variations in the value of the level of connectivity and integration that can be used as priority considerations in its development.

In one part of the geopark, there lies Bengawan Solo Purba valley which is the ancient Bengawan Solo river flow. Considering the significance of Bengawan Solo to the life of the Javanese people, and its archaeological values, this valley has the potential to be developed into a tourism object. This paper focuses on the feasibility study of the development of this valley into a tourist destination. The method used in this study is SWOT analysis to discuss the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Bengawan Solo Purba Valley. The results of the study show that it is possible to develop this area as a tourist destination but for educational tourism purposes focusing on archaeology.

This rapid spread is identified with the destinations practicing architectural replication and illusion. This chapter aims to explore 1) the architectural practices involved in Instagramable architecture in Indonesia, 2) to what extent architectural practices are reproduced in Instagramable tourism, 3) how they relate to the social media and the Instagram users' characteristics. The authors explore the Instagramable tourist destinations popularised through Instagram in the last five years by mapping and categorizing them. They then go deeper into each category to see how architectural reproducibility happens in Instagramable tourism. The result shows that the Instagramable tourist destinations in Indonesia use a similar method which is copying previous architectural practices to some degree. The mechanism of the spread of architectural practices in Instagramable tourism is unique to today's culture, with the social media and 'wallpaper culture'.

Sea-level rise and land subsidence are some of the causes of Jakarta’s flood. Jakarta is affected by floods every year. Communities need a development strategy to be able to survive from the unpredictable floods each year. This paper aims to identify the application of community strategy as an effort to adapt to Jakarta’s flood in Kampung Apung, West Jakarta. Kampung Apung is one of the slum areas in Jakarta that has been affected by floods since 1995. The flood was caused by land subsidence and worsened by development around the kampung that ignore the environment in the ’90s. Now, Kampung Apung has been submerged in water as deep as 2 meters. Metaphor Architecture is used as an approach in the planning and architecture, considering that Metaphor Architecture can visually communicate the building functions to the public. Architectural Metaphor used is Tangible Architectural Metaphor, so that the form will be designed in such Metaphor to be able to communicate the existence of Culinary Center and Culinary landmark of Surakarta City. Problems in planning and designing Culinary Center ie what form it will be used as the basis of an analogy to be a metaphor ? Be used stages of creative thinking in design the Culinary Center with Metaphor Architectural Approach. Gunung Sewu in Wonogiri Regency has been recognized by UNESCO with its designation as a Global Ge... more Gunung Sewu in Wonogiri Regency has been recognized by UNESCO with its designation as a Global Geopark Natural Heritage. The recognition is based on its karst formation which considered to have universal value therefore needs to be protected. The recognition is a significant capital for tourism development. However, this global geopark is still underdeveloped in Wonogiri area. To plan tourism development in Wonogiri area which has been marginalized in decades in tourism development, we use space syntax tool. This tool which is developed in University College London has a strength in analyzing spatial configuration that can help predict human spatial behavior. The results show that the distribution of Karst formations in Gunung Sewu, Wonogiri Regency has variations in the value of the level of connectivity and integration that can be used as priority considerations in its development.

In one part of the geopark, there lies Bengawan Solo Purba valley which is the ancient Bengawan Solo river flow. Considering the significance of Bengawan Solo to the life of the Javanese people, and its archaeological values, this valley has the potential to be developed into a tourism object. This paper focuses on the feasibility study of the development of this valley into a tourist destination. The method used in this study is SWOT analysis to discuss the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Bengawan Solo Purba Valley. The results of the study show that it is possible to develop this area as a tourist destination but for educational tourism purposes focusing on archaeology.

This rapid spread is identified with the destinations practicing architectural replication and illusion. This chapter aims to explore 1) the architectural practices involved in Instagramable architecture in Indonesia, 2) to what extent architectural practices are reproduced in Instagramable tourism, 3) how they relate to the social media and the Instagram users' characteristics. The authors explore the Instagramable tourist destinations popularised through Instagram in the last five years by mapping and categorizing them. They then go deeper into each category to see how architectural reproducibility happens in Instagramable tourism. The result shows that the Instagramable tourist destinations in Indonesia use a similar method which is copying previous architectural practices to some degree. The mechanism of the spread of architectural practices in Instagramable tourism is unique to today's culture, with the social media and 'wallpaper culture'.

Communities need a development strategy to be able to survive from the unpredictable floods each year. This paper aims to identify the application of community strategy as an effort to adapt to Jakarta’s flood in Kampung Apung, West Jakarta. Kampung Apung is one of the slum areas in Jakarta that has been affected by floods since 1995. Makalah ini membahas tentang bagaimana identitas Jawa dibentuk di dua tempat, Yogyakarta dan Sura... more Makalah ini membahas tentang bagaimana identitas Jawa dibentuk di dua tempat, Yogyakarta dan Surakarta dengan pembahasan khusus pada kasus kraton Yogyakarta dan Surakarta. Kasus ini diambil dengan pertimbangan karena dua-duanya dikenal sebagai pusat budaya Jawa akan tetapi memiliki perbedaan-perbedaan dalam artefak budayanya. Dalam wacana identitas, identitas adalah bersifat dinamis dan dalam kasus kedua tempat ini identitas Jawa terbentuk melewati dialog dengan budaya-budaya lain serta keputusan-keputusan politis dalam pembentukannya. Keduanya membentuk identitas yang berbeda akan tetapi masih tetap dianggap sebagai sesuatu yang sama-sama 'Jawa'. PENDAHULUAN Kota Yogyakarta dan Surakarta merupakan dua kota yang dikenal sebagai pusat budaya Jawa, dengan kata lain kedua kota ini memiliki identitas 'Jawa'. Walau demikian hal ini bukan berarti bahwa identitas dari kedua kota ini murni dibentuk dari segala hal yang beratribut 'Jawa'. Dalam sejarahnya, kedua kota mendapatkan kontak dengan budaya selain Jawa jauh sebelum kota itu didirikan, yang ditandai dengan didirikannya kraton sebagai asal muasal dari kota tersebut. Kedua kota sendiri didirikan pada abad ke-18 sementara kontak kedua daerah ini dengan dunia luar sudah ada jauh sebelumnya.Hal ini bisa dilihat dari adanya lokasi bandar pelabuhan khusus untuk Arab dan Cina di sepanjang bantaran sungai Bengawan Solo, di sekitar desa Sala sebelum kraton Surakarta dibangun di daerah tersebut (Qomarun, 2000) yang dapat dilihat di Gambar 1. Selain itu perlu dipertimbangkan juga keterlibatan bangsa Eropa dalam perdagangan di area Nusantara sejak abad ke16 yang dalam kasus Yogyakarta dan Surakarta, keterlibatannya sangat besar karena pembentukan kedua kota itu sendiri melibatkan bangsa Belanda melalui perjanjian Giyanti pada tahun 1755. Hal tersebut di atas menunjukkan bahwa telah ada kontak dengan bangsa asing di daerah ini jauh sebelumnya terbentuknya kedua kota yang dalam contoh di atas adalah bangsa Arab, Cina dan Eropa yang tentu saja akan memberikan kesempatan pada timbulnya pertukaran kebudayaan, yang akan terlihat dalam berbagai produk budaya termasuk di antaranya adalah arsitektur.
