As it continually progresses over centuries, various movements were given birth, seeking women's emancipation from oppression. This research exposes the impact of the #MeToo campaign on alleviating Filipina women's oppression to the surface and bringing their voices of liberation. The research starts with the definition of the #MeToo movement, backgrounds on feminist philosophy, Filipino feminism and Pinay Peminism. The paper evaluates if #MeToo movement influenced local celebrities to speak and share their abusive experiences on show business publicly and also influence everyday Filipina women to speak out. The #MeToo movement as a phenomenon started to be globally recognized with thread (or trend?) of posts on different social media platforms on sexual harassment, especially in Hollywood, like the Harvey Weinstein case. By using hashtags #MeToo, various women shared similar experiences openly or anonymously. The movement was successful because it is a shared narrative creating collectiveness among women. It became the battlecry of women who never had the chance to voice out sexual harassment stories by sexual predators and oppressors. The #MeToo campaign as it was done openly or anonymously and shared, had a strong chance as a feminist method for Pinay Peminism since Philippines has no straight forward culture and adapts more of shared (pakikisama, pakikiisa) values. However, it remains that the global movement might not as successful in the country due to many factors that plague Philippine society as a whole; poverty and inequitable access to the internet, among others.
