It is difficult to attract people to self studies. The people and especially young people require interaction and also possibilities to work active with the context. The paper is focused on the NaturNet-Redime approach to the education, generic NaturNet architecture supporting such approach and two tools, which could help to overcome this barriers, first is using simple and non expensive video tools for training, second is to provide training trough gaming (with possibilities to form own content). The paper describes general architecture of solution based on so-called Uniform Resource Management, which supports sharing of educational context and methods in distributed environment. Special focus is on using video lecture tools and gaming as part of educational processes. The video lecture tools objective is to support on line lecture given by tutor using video streaming. The technology using VLC library and is now published under pen Source license. It support on line training using only internet browser by students. Last part of the solution is co called video gaming. It is based on interaction between digital maps, description of objects and photos of objects. Students has possibility to search imaged objects in maps and compete, who will have best results, which are measured on the base of distance between real object and object signed by students. Second part of system is already for more advantage users, which offer possibilities to students to form their own content. Current experiences demonstrate that mainly this second possibility is very attractive for young people.

There has been constant development of the software since 1982, with recent major improvements reflecting renewed efforts by the international development team to make it one of the core components of the Open Source geospatial software stack. It can handle 2D and 3D raster data, includes a topological 2D/3D vector engine, network analysis functions, and SQL-based attribute management. This chapter presents an overview and practical examples of the GRASS 6 capabilities relevant to environmental and planning applications including new functionality. Enhancements to 3D visualization and approaches to environmental models are also discussed, as well as image processing routines pertaining to LIDAR and multi-band imagery. Integration of GRASS with other Open Source software packages for geostatistical analysis, cartographic output and Web GIS applications are described. Trends for future development are also discussed.

The portal prototype provides solid features for all phases of emergency management. ERRA should protect communities by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.

It includes also the experience with sharing of spatial data and spatial information. The objective of 4 th way to SDI is not to build a single node or access point for accessing or collecting spatial information but to build a network of nodes, where every node could be an access point for spatial information. The objective of 4 th way to SDI should not be understood as an alternative of public initiatives including INSPIRE, GEOSS, GMESS or UNSDI but to give a chance to anybody to profit from formed Global SDI using standards coming from this initiatives and using interoperability rules defined mainly by Open Geospatial Consortium and W3C. The objective of 4 th way to SDI is not to replace such useful initiatives as OpenStreetMap, but to make results of the initiatives more accessible for everybody. The objective of 4 th way to SDI is not to remove such solution like Google Maps or Microsoft Live Maps, but give some alternative, where on one side people could share information in different environment including for example Google. The objective of 4 th way to SDI is to support utilisation of Open Sources. Proprietary solutions are not excluded from the network. A key aspect is interoperability. Objective of 4 th way to SDI is also to give a chance to share and use spatial information by people, who do not have necessary infrastructure. specifications for data sets and spatial data services; network services and technologies; agreements on sharing, access and use; and coordination and monitoring mechanisms, processes and procedures.

OGC Web Processing Service (WPS) is approaching from version 0.4.0 to version 1.0.0. A WPS can be configured to offer any sort of GIS functionality to clients across a network, including access to pre-programmed calculations and/or computation models that operate on spatially referenced data. A WPS may offer calculations as simple as subtracting one set of spatially referenced numbers from another (e.g., determining the difference in influenza cases between two different seasons), or as complicated as a global climate change model. This processes can be calculated on remote servers and so, the local stations can be common desktop computers. With new versions of web 2.0 based map applications (e.g. Google Maps, etc.) end user is able to browse high interactive maps in web pages. Although it is possible to build custom map application with help of proprietary API, such as Google Maps API, Seznam.cz API or similar, it can often lead to legal issues. Adding custom data can be also not so straight forward. Furthermore support for OGC services is not extensive in such kind of applications. In this article OpenSource tools, which are enabling building custom maps "widgets" at any web site, are introduces. The map can have look & feel, such e.g. Google Maps has, but without license issues.
