After nanotechnology emerged, architects worldwide tried to comprehend, invest in, and use it to improve products. Research began to improve materials' efficiency by regulating their molecules to improve or add features. Preventing color change by painting buildings with self-cleaning, anti-scratch, and antibacterial paint. Nanomaterials are more efficient for building exteriors. They also reduce maintenance costs, rationalize energy use, and improve user comfort. Spreading awareness of Nano-treated materials, which are the cheapest in actual costs throughout operation and maintenance, even if their initial cost is higher, is crucial. The research aimed to determine the design principles and standards that must be followed when using nanotechnology in finishing the facades of administrative buildings to achieve the lowest cost, the shortest period for implementation, and the highest performance efficiency of the building. The study relied on an inductive approach based on theoretical studies, as it dealt with the study of the concept of nanotechnology within finishing materials, its principles and features, and the most important applications of nanotechnology that affect the finishes of building facades. The research study dealt with Nano applications in the field of architecture, so that they achieve the goals and standards of building sustainability, and are used in the finishes of the external facades of buildings to reduce the cost, rationalize energy consumption, and extend the life span of the building, and have an advantage in terms of function and economic return in the long term.

Measuring these goals in the money language is the key to their integration, so reducing costs is an important aspect of any project. One of the ways to reduce costs is to focus on how to avoid implementation problems and the financial implications of it. Several factors including irregular financial flows, poor management due to the lack of programs that support the administrative awareness of projects, financial and administrative instability, poor control and supervision, unskilled labor, insufficient machinery, inappropriate timing for the arrival of materials, changes in the construction conditions, lack of clarity of specifications, insufficient preparation during the pre-implementation stages, imposed regulations and laws, and other factors that contribute to problems in the implementation of major national projects. This study aimed to enhance the general understanding concerning the factors that affect the adoption of APM strategies in construction industry. The research relied on the inductive-analytical approach through conducting a questionnaire among stakeholders to analyze major development construction projects which can be benefited from applying the concept of agility to reduce project failure, then presenting and analyzing results of the survey questionnaire conducted with a sample of Egyptian design and construction firms to investigate their perception and application of prioritizing agile project management strategies as a change management tool in construction. The results of the thesis suggested that the Agile methodology is likely to yield significant benefits, primarily characterized by enhanced client engagement. The Agile approach significantly encourages increased customer engagement in the project as opposed to the current scenario. Additionally, it has the potential to reduce uncertainty and enhance risk management. The implementation of time management techniques and regular meetings is advantageous in monitoring the development and status of the project.

While observations indicate that the cost overrun is a major phenomenon in construction industry worldwide. Hence, there are several factors responsible for cost overruns. So, a lot of studies have been conducted to investigate it. The aim of this paper is to identify the latest top major factors causing construction cost overrun construction projects in both of developed and developing countries (in particular) according to many variables during last three decades. through a comprehensive literature review, most common and frequently occurring causes of cost overrun worldwide and developing countries in particular were listed, factors were prioritized according to their occurrence, it is concluded that however cost overrun factors vary considerably across countries, the study of causing factors of cost overrun in construction projects will provide a reference for other projects that might be executed in similar circumstances and will also provide valuable information for international companies which intend to provide construction projects.

The paper provides an overview of the types of materials available giving a new insight into innovative methods and techniques that will be available, and open new doors for advancement and improvement in the construction industry. The new technologies and materials discussed in this paper present a small fraction of the options that are available for use by industry. Key words: Smart structures, advanced communication, building materials.

These risks are the possibility of a cost deviation occurrence consequently, affecting the project costs and the involved parties. Cost overrun risks also affect investment in construction sector negatively and focusing on risk reduction measures. Cost control isn't confined to cost management only but also, risk management is considered an effective control tool of project costs. Cost overrun risks are identified and then risk assessment and analysis are done. Then risk management and risk mitigation are carried out. The purpose of this study is to present an approach that can assess cost overrun risks after identifying them. Then, resorting to response strategies to create a response plan for high-priority risks, the researcher conducted a survey research by applying a questionnaire among the specialists in the construction industry and chose the touristic projects in Port Said as a case study. The risk identification techniques more frequently applied in construction are checklist and Brain storming, in addition the risk assessment and analysis technique (the qualitative technique).

Therefore, protecting as well as enhancing its value through applying sustainable refurbishment process is a major challenge that needs to be properly managed. The problem is although there are a number of studies that are concerned with sustainable refurbishment, cultural heritage refurbishment management and its impact on reducing the probability of demolition remain under researched. In 2018, the UNESCO stated that 58% of the global cultural heritage buildings got demolished over the past 18 years. Moreover, in the same year, a research paper stated that there is a gap between urban development and cultural heritage conservation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is concerned with identifying the role of sustainable refurbishment management in reducing the probability of applying heritage demolishing principles that lead to facing the risk of demolition heritage buildings. In this regard, qualitative and quantities methods were used in this paper to gather secondary data (from of literature review), and preliminary data (from case studies of cultural heritage projects, and survey). Results of this paper identified the mutual relation between sustainable refurbishment principles, their relation to heritage value, and the impact of this relation on demolition principles in the form of extant literature and case studies.

The research aims to improve daylight levels for office space in hot arid by optimizing the best skin configuration proportions with multi-functional layers that work for resolving multi objectives problem to daylight. The implementation of the simulation process is carries out by using grasshopper software which supports simulation parametric model process and DIVA as a simulation engine to space with southern orientation in Cairo, Egypt. The simulation process performed by using "sDA" and "ASE" metrics with integration of "LEED v4" criteria. The research optimized skin configuration which achieve best daylight levels that achieved (100% SDA) and (3% AS). [Sherif Mohammed Sabry, Maged Mohamed Abo El-Ela, Mamdouh Ahmed Farag.
