The treatments consisted of three levels of organic phosphorus (0g, 37g and 74g) and 9 cowpea varieties (Achishiru, 03K-316-1, IT93K-452-1 IT98K-573-2-1, IT03K-378-4, IT97K-568-19 Aloka-local, IT89KD-288, and IT99K-216-44) which were laid out in a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The results indicated that plant height, number of leaves and branches, days to flowering and maturity differed significantly for the varieties examined. Similarly, the varieties recorded statistically different number of pods per pot, pod weight, seed weight per pod, number of seeds per pod, 100-seed weight and threshing percentage. On other hand application of phosphorus did not have significant effect on all the characters examined. The result showed that variety IT99K-216-44 has potential for high yield and thus suitable for cultivation by farmers.
