The Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, VT seeks a Youth Programs and Outreach Librarian to help advance our mission of empowering community members to become lifelong learners. While our history dates back to 1895, we strive to be a resilient, inclusive, and innovative library that continually learns and adapts to meet the changing needs of our community. We serve more than 18,000 people across six towns and have tremendous support thanks to the service provided by our exceptional staff. The Youth Programs and Outreach Librarian plans and executes all library programs for children and young adults, frequently collaborating with our community partners and KHL programs and events staff. They maintain existing successful outreach services, with an eye to new ideas and best practices. They work most of their hours on the Children’s circulation desk, but are scheduled for specific times off the desk to complete their other work. As part of their regular responsibilities, they open and close the Library, perform daily duties of the circulation desks, offer reference and readers advisory and are expected to have a thorough knowledge of all Library services. They must work well under pressure, performing multiple tasks efficiently.

Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position is 35 hours per week and requires some evening and Saturday hours. The starting pay is $23.20 per hour along with an excellent benefits package.   • First round interviews will take place February 10-11, 2025.
  • Second round interviews for candidates who advance will take place February 12-13, 2025.

  • Preferred start date will be March 3, 2025.
