Faculty research programs are supported by a wide variety of external national agencies, including NIH, NIMH, NIAAA, NIDA, NICH, NIA, NSF, and U.S. Department of Education.
The Department of Psychology is strongly committed to interdisciplinary scholarship and research, and has a long history of effective collaboration with other UK colleges and departments.
Psychology professors are involved in several training grants that are funded by NIH.
These collaborations provide students and faculty with interests in these multidisciplinary fields an opportunity to cooperate in research and training.
Faculty in the department participate in a number of national professional societies, such as American Psychological Association, American Psychological Society, the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System, Society for Neuroscience, Society for Psychonomic Science, the Research Society on Alcoholism, the Eating Disorder Research Society, the Society for Research in Child Development, and many others.
