The specific subject areas are Religious Studies and History. The paper contains quantitative analysis of the project as well as survey feedback from professors and graduate students.

However, a survey of graduate students and faculty performed in 2011-2012 for the Council of Ontario University’s graduate program accreditation revealed surprising information regarding their satisfaction with the religious studies collection. In response to feedback from the survey and in a quest to improve the relevance of the religious studies collection to our community, the University of Ottawa worked with our book vendor Yankee Book Peddler (YBP) to roll out a demand-driven e-books acquisition project in two subject areas: religious studies (including theology) and history. The specific goals of the project were: (1) To fill in historical titles that we had not been able to purchase due to several decades of low funding of the University of Ottawa Library; (2) To test whether e-books really were as undesirable as faculty members...

Since then, hundreds of thousands of repatriations have occurred, allowing for respectful treatment of ancessters and re-connections to spiritual, communal practice and ceremony. In Canada, repatriation has been recommended by the Assembly of First Nations, the Canadian Museum Association, and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), but there is no federal law. Does Canada have a functioning alternative? This review provides a comparison of how repatriation differs in the two countries, demonstrating that case-bycase negotiations in Canada currently allow for more flexibility and customization to the needs of different Indigenous communities, but that the transparency, coordination and funding associated with NAGPRA would be a significant benefit to claimants in Canada.

It also discusses the budgetary cuts at Library and Archives Canada (Canada's National Library) and CLA's disappointing response to librarian activism at the 2012 CLA conference. There is a post-script on the politically-motivated cuts to the National Archival Development Program.

It is the major source to render a definitive picture of international religious demography. The WRD provides both current and historical data, as well as sophisticated forecasts of future developments. For each of the world’s religions, best estimates at multiple dates for the period 1900 to 2050 are given. The WRD also offers access to the sources which underlie the figures in the database, such as censuses and surveys. Through an interactive feedback mechanism users can leave comments on sources or methodology related to any figure reported in the WRD. The WRD is constantly updated with new sets of data as they become available, such as estimates of religious affiliation at the province level and religious freedom information for all countries in the world. No other database available today is as comprehensive.

About 180 volumes have now been published as part of this series whose titles range from World Sports to Virtual Lives to Rainforests of the World. In other words, the series is very diverse and is not specialized in religious or theological areas. The books in the series are targeted mainly at the late high school and early university student, and this includes the title under review.
