Washington Sea Grant (WSG) works within an ocean and coastal environment that strongly influences the state’s economy, culture, and residents. Since its inception in 1968, WSG has provided scientific research, outreach, communication, and education to residents living within its 15 coastal counties. WSG-supported researchers are at the scientific forefront and WSG works actively with communities, managers, and businesses to strengthen understanding and encourage sustainable use of the region’s resources. The region also carries with it a variety of issues. Learn more about how WSG is addressing these unique challenges.
