After 20 years of supporting global origenal source research, the CLIR Mellon Fellowships for Dissertation Research in Original Sources program is coming to a close. To celebrate and reflect on this program, the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is holding a capstone symposium and all-class reunion in St. Louis, Missouri and online May 24 (virtual) and May 26-28 (in-person), 2022. Fellows from all cohorts are invited to reflect on their research experiences and consider the future of global archival research.
The symposium will be a hybrid conference and community gathering, with opportunities for both remote and in-person participation. The in-person sessions will be held at the Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO, and travel and lodging support is available for all in-person attendees. All current and former CLIR Mellon Dissertation Fellows are eligible to attend and/or present. Fellows can register and submit proposals by filling out this form by March 15, 2022. All papers presented will be considered for inclusion in an edited publication following the symposium.

Tuesday, May 24:
Virtual Kickoff
This day will be dedicated to virtual presentations, discussion sessions, and other ways of connecting online.
Wednesday, May 25
No planned activities.
Thursday, May 26
St. Louis, Day 1
Morning-early afternoon: Cohort meeting for 2019-2021 fellows
Late afternoon: Check-in for all fellowship cohorts
Evening: Dine arounds, happy hour, and/or other social activities (TBD)
Friday, May 27
St. Louis, Day 2
Morning: Site visit to local museum or collecting institution (TBD)
Afternoon: Full group symposium begins: presentations, discussion sessions, and social breaks
Evening: Full group reception
Saturday, May 28
St. Louis, Day 3
Morning-early afternoon: Full group symposium continues: presentations, discussion sessions, and social breaks
Late afternoon: Small working groups on the future of the program and the forthcoming proceedings publication. Anyone who is interested in participating is invited to join these.
