Established by federal law to assure public participation in sanctuary management, the council includes individuals representing a variety of agencies and partners, user and interest groups. Citizens are invited to apply for council seats or may attend monthly council meetings. Four working groups support the SAC, meet to discuss topics pertaining to research (RAP), education (SEP), and conservation (CWG). The public may attend working group meetings. |

The Foundation is a local chapter affiliate of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, the non-profit partner for the National Marine Sanctuary System that raises awareness of and support for national marine and Great Lakes sanctuaries and their vital role in ensuring a healthy ocean. The public is welcome to give an online donation to the Foundation to support projects that aid in the protection of this sanctuary. |
