The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to making
sailing and Lake Michigan available to everyone. The Sailing Center has employment and
volunteer opportunities in many facets of its daily sailing operation.

Adult Sailing Instructors - MCSC Adult Instructors work with
adult students to teach practical skills and sailing theory. Instructors need to be competent
sailors, reliable for scheduled shifts, patient, be capable communicators, work well with other
staff and MCSC members and be able to teach practical skills and sailing theory. Primary duties
include daily planning and supervision of sailing lessons. This includes lecture preparation,
land and water drills and other components of a safe and enjoyable sailing program.

Youth Sailing Instructors - MCSC Youth Instructors work with
youth students to teach practical skills and sailing theory. Instructors must be competent
sailors, enthusiastic, reliable, patient, have good communication skills, work well with others
and be able to teach practical skills and sailing theory. Primary duties include daily planning
and supervision of sailing lessons. This includes lecture preparation, on the water drills,
rainy day activities and other components of a safe, creative and enjoyable sailing program.

Prams-in-the-Park Instructors - Prams in the Park Instructors work
with the Sailing Center's youngest sailors (ages 8 to 11) to teach sailing and water safety
lessons in local lagoons. Instructors must be competent sailors, reliable, patient, have good
communication skills, and be enthusiastic, creative and able to help plan age appropriate
activities. Instructors must enjoy working with children. Primary duties include daily planning
and supervision of sailing lessons including on the water drills, rainy day activities and other
components of a safe and enjoyable sailing program.

Dockmasters - Dockmasters are the Sailing Center's primary
link between members utilizing MCSC boats and shore. Their primary responsibility is supporting
the members and monitoring safety. This includes supervising vessels during open sailing,
monitoring weather conditions, providing assistance to programs when needed, maintaining the
fleet in a state of readiness, enforcing MCSC regulations and providing a friendly and above all
- safe environment. Familiarity with safety boats, sailing and general boat maintenance is
necessary along with an ability to work well with others, be patient, reliable and have a
friendly, helpful attitude.
