AQUASTAT

AQUASTAT is FAO’s global water information system, known to be the most quoted source on global water statistics. It collects, analyses and disseminates data and information by country, by region and for the world. Provided data is supplemented with a state-of-the-art contextual metadata system which gives related information exactly where it is required.

Its aim is to provide users interested in global, regional and national analyses with comprehensive information related to water resources, water uses and agricultural water management across the world. It plays a key role in the monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goal 6 that sets out to "ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all", and in particular indicator 6.4 on water stress and water use efficiency.

The entire AQUASTAT website is available in three languages: English, French and Spanish.
