sep pdpt map

With a few exceptions, the Northeast was wetter than normal in September.

sep tdpt map

Temperatures during September ranged from near normal to more than 5°F above normal.

Most of the Northeast saw precipitation totals well above normal along with warmer than normal temperatures in September. Rainfall totals were impressive across eastern Pennsylvania and southeastern New York, thanks to Tropical Storm Lee and a few other significant rain events during the month. When August, another wet month, was included, the 2-month rainfall totals totals jumped to the 12-30 inch range. Nine-month totals of 40 - 70 inches were equal to or above average throughout the region. With all this precipitation, new daily, monthly, and multi-month rainfall records were set from Caribou to Baltimore. The January - September totals at Binghamton, NY and Harrisburg, PA have even topped their all-time yearly totals.
