Romain Duguet has announced the retirement of his 14-year-old mare Quorida de Treho (Kannan x Tolbiac des Forets).
Together, Duguet and Quorida de Treho competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, the 2016 World Cup Final in Gothenburg and the 2015 European Championships in Aachen where they claimed team bronze for Switzerland. The pair also won the CSI5* Grand Prix at Saut Hermès in Paris in 2015, the CSIO5* Longines Grand Prix of St. Gallen in 2015, the World Cup in Helsinki in 2015 and in 2016 to mention some of their many top results.
On his official Facebook page, Duguet writes:
"Today is a special day for my team and myself with the retirement of my most faithful partner, Quorida de Treho.
It is with a lot of emotions that we let her join her new life. Thanks to this fantastic mare we realized our dreams even the wildest. Quorida offered me my first wins in Grand Prix 5* at the Saut Hermès and in the Grand Prix of St Gallen in 2015. In the arena Coco always gave the best of herself as in Helsinki where we won twice the World Cup Grand Prix. Together we have been selected to take part in the most important events of our sport, such as the European Championships in Aachen in 2015, where we finished on the third step of the podium with the Swiss team, the Gothenburg World Cup final and the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016 where we did the individual final.
Quorida de Treho is one of the best horses in the world, those that impact in a considerable way the life of their rider and for a long time.
So charismatic and endearing, Quorida has always been the center of attention thanks to a dedicated team that has made her the crack we all know. First of all, her owner Christiana, for whom Coco has always held a special place, but also Thomas who believed in us and trained us for 4 years to allow us to shine at a high level and of course Hanna, his groom, who took care of this champion for 6 years and all the team that met her at home as in show.
It's time to let this great lady begin her second life. Thank you for all my Coco."
