Monoclonal Antibody Facility
Faculty Advisor: Kai Zinn
Director: Ker-hwa Susan Ou
The Monoclonal Antibody Facility provides assistance to researchers wishing to generate monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), ascites fluid and other related services. In addition, the Facility conducts research on the development of novel immunological techniques.
We developed the adult tolerization method to enhance the probability of producing mAbs against a particular target antigen in a mixture, or against a specific part of a molecule.
We also produce polyclonal ascites Abs by immunizing mice with antigens and then induce the mice with sarcoma cells to obtain high titer, polyclonal ascites fluid. This method can provide 10-18 ml polyclonal ascites fluid per mouse while using small amount of antigen.
Services offered by the Facility
- Generation of mAbs against antigens supplied by users
- Generation of polyclonal mouse antibodies in large quantities using polyclonal ascites technology
- Generation of mAbs against weakly immunogenic epitopes by tolerization method
- Cryostorage of cell lines
