Lucy Tudor - Lucy Willcox Garden Design on Instagram: "Miscanthus! What a grass for its architectural form. There are so many to choose from. In this back bed I have Miscanthus sinensis ‘Gracillimus’ and Miscanthus sinensis ‘Morning Light’. They free drainage soil. Gracillimus prefers full sun, where as Morning Light will take a bit of shade. They are must for structure and gorgeous seed heads. I plant in clumps. Two or three rows of 2 or 3 per row for a big old clump! @crocus.co.uk 15% of LUCYW15 #grassesforthemasses #grassesfordrying #plantguides #whattoplant #tallgrasses #miscanthus #gardenobsessed #mybackyard #lucywillcoxgardendesign" Miscanthus Sinensis Morning Light, Miscanthus Gracillimus, Miscanthus Morning Light, Miscanthus Sinensis Gracillimus, Miscanthus Sinensis, Seed Heads, August 10, Ornamental Grasses, Companion Planting

Its fine-textured foliage is slightly ivory variegated, making it look silver from a distance. Blooming later than most Miscanthus cultivars, 'Morning Light' displays tiny crimson-red plume flowers in late summer or early fall, which change to silvery white as they mature and provide good winter interest.
