I created this mirrored repeat by changing the colour on my motif then i used alt to copy the motif and flipped it horizontally. I repeated this till i had a full rectangle motif, then i selected the whole image and pressed edit- define pattern. I then opened a new pages and used the paint bucket tool to flood the page

Mirrored repeat. for this repeat I selected an area from my motif, copied it ,pasted it on a new page, copied the pasted area by pressing alt and dragged it parallel to the other, then I selected both of them and copied them in downward position,then selected the other two and flipped them vertically. I then cleared the background layer, selected all of them and defined pattern. this is now my new mirrored motif. I made this print and colored the background layer brown.
