CatCash, previously known as the Plus Account, began offering students and employees the opportunity to purchase goods and services at participating locations off campus during the Fall 2005 semester. There are 32,000 students and 15,000 employees that have access to a CatCash Account. It is currently accepted on campus and at many businesses off campus.

 

Vendor Application Information

Once a vendor's application has been approved, each location accepting CatCash will need to purchase a Verifone Tranz 330 or 380 through the CatCash Office. 

The CatCash Office will charge a $35 annual fee and a small percentage on each sale.

* Please note, alcohol, gift cards, tanning services, or tobacco products cannot be purchased with CatCash funds.

How do I apply to begin accepting CatCash?

Does CatCash charge a commission/processing fee on sales?

Yes, 4% for retail locations, 6% for restaurants, and 12% for pizza delivery locations.

Do I purchase the WildCard ID readers directly from the CatCash Office?

Yes.

Do I need to submit an invoice to be reimbursed?

No. Payments are automatically processed on Mondays for the previous Sunday-Saturday weekly sales.  This schedule may be adjusted around holidays, end of month, etc.

How often will I get reimbursed for CatCash sales?

What is CatCash and how can it benefit my business?

CatCash is a debit program for University of Kentucky students and employees. CatCash is a feature of your WildCard Student UKID or Employee UKID. CatCash is widely used on campus and off campus for food, bookstores, printing, copying, prescriptions, and much more. UK campus printing may only be accessed with CatCash.

Is it ok to charge students a fee for accepting CatCash to help offset the commission charged by the CatCash office?

No. As outlined in the Off-Campus Vendor Merchant Agreement, Merchant shall not discriminate between cash customers and CatCash customers with respect to the purchase price of goods and services and will not add any service charge, finance charge, carrying charge, or other charge of any kind to the cash price of any merchandise or services sold in any transaction involving the use of CatCash. 

What should I do if I accidentally overcharge someone?

Vendors have the capability to process refunds.

What should I do if the picture on the WildCard ID does not match the customer?

If the picture on the WildCard ID does not match the customer presenting the card, do not process the transaction. WildCard ID cards are non-transferable.
