A school in the Philippines poverty is typically held in what many people would say a "shack". These kids are sent to school without supplies, a backpack, or even shoes. The educational attainment of these kids deny them of moving out of their social class. Many of them are even lucky to experience an organized class.

Education in the Philippines needs a lot of improvement. Modernization should be one of the main focus as well as with the upgrade of the teacher's knowledge when it comes to using technology for educational purposes.

In the Philippines Star of Hope mainly work with education. The objective with the educational program is to give children from poor slum areas a good education and with that a better start in life. Totally 3000 children in the Philippines get their education by Star of Hope. At the pre-school in the Manila suburb Crame 85 children get their basic training so they get ready for the primary school.
