Liv Gwilliam is a fourth year student at the University of Virginia double majoring in Public Policy and Leadership and Global Environments and Sustainability. Since taking a course on climate change her first semester at UVA, Liv has been passionate about tackling environmental issues from a policy perspective. On campus, Liv has worked as a research assistant helping to curate an exhibition on species extinction in UVA’s own Special Collections Library. This past summer, Liv worked as an intern for Conservation International’s Global Policy and Government Affairs team. She was also a 2020 Research Fellow for Strategy for Humanity where she conducted research on the implementation of the European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) and its impacts on Brazilian deforestation. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
