  • Also known as Titunwan ("prairie dwellers") and Teton ("snake, or enemy"), and part of the Oceti Šakowiŋ (seven council fires) confederation of seven Sioux tribes.
  • The Lakota language is spoken, one of the three principal Sioux language dialects.
