Residential Solar Energy Disclosure and Homeowners Bill of Rights Act, 2024 P.L. Ch. 67 & 68 Pursuant to the recently-enacted Residential Solar Energy Disclosure and Homeowners Bill of Rights Act, 2024 P.L. Ch. 67 & 68, the Department of Business Regulation will begin licensing retailers, sales representatives, and other entities involved with the sale or lease of residential solar energy systems on March 1, 2025. The Department is currently preparing regulations and guidance necessary to implement the provisions of this Act. CCC Adult Use Regulations Proposed Proposed rules and regulations for Adult Use Cannabis have been proposed by the Cannabis Control Commission and can be found on the Secretary of State website or on the Commission’s website.The Commission is accepting written comments on the proposed regulations through February 7, 2025. Please send your comments to cccinquiry@ccc.ri.gov or the Commission’s mailing address, however, email is preferred.A public hearing on all four regulations will be held in person on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1pm at the Public Utilities Commission, 89 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, RI, 02886. Building, Design, Fire Professionals & Accountancy To improve the business climate in the state, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Fire Safety Code Board of Appeal and Review, the Office of the State Building Commissioner, the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, Board of Registration for Professional Land Surveyors, Board of Examination and Registration of Architects, the Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects and the Contractors’ Registration and Licensing Board have been consolidated within the Department of Business Regulation’s Division of Building, Design and Fire Professionals. All professions related to building and construction design, inspection, and enforcement of the building and fire codes are housed within, and are responsible to, the same agency. This division provides a single point of contact for building and construction professionals seeking authorization from the state.
