Since reading Days at the Morisaki Bookshop, I knew I will have to explore Jimbocho in Tokyo, a neighbourhood full of bookstores (new and second hand) and I am so glad we did. 📚📚📚Books everywhere and people browsing books, it made me wish I knew Japanese, but maybe best I don’t, as my book pile at home is big enough. I wish we had a neighbourhood like this in London, what a dream! I to... Anna Katina on Instagram: "Non touristic Kyoto spots. If you love authentic traditional and non touristic places, you must visit these 3 shops located on Teramachi-dori, a historical street in Kyoto. 1. Old bookshop. This an Aladdin’s cave for fine art collectors and historians alike. You’ll find unique well preserved old Japanese vintage prints and books. I bought an old poster which they carefully wrapped in a vinyl sheet to protect it. 2. Located on the same street you’ll find this Wagashi, (Japanese confectionery) shop. A very friendly elderly man will serve you the prettiest and delicious handmade Wagashi! The sweets are sold in a tiny box with the traditional wooden knife/spoon. A must-try and recommended by locals. 3. Kyoto Kyukyodo Honten (paper shop) has been in business since Days At The Morisaki Bookshop Aesthetic, Days At Morisaki Bookshop Aesthetic, Japanese Bookshop, Japanese Book Store Aesthetic, Kyoto Shopping, Old Bookshop, Confectionery Shop, Japanese Record Store, Japanese Confectionery
