If you have a double gate installed over a concrete or tile walkway, you will likely ask: how do I get the cane bolt to stay in the ground? The easiest way to do it is to drill a simple hole into the concrete, recommended for gate setups where the inactive gate isn't used very often. For frequently-used gates, install a cane bolt that includes a strike plate. This adds a protective layer over the concrete so it doesn't get chipped up. Be sure to have a knowledgeable installer!!
