APRED_VERS

The current APOGEE-2 spectroscopic pipeline version (r6 for Data Release 13).

Commiss

Enabling Yes allows for a search of the 11,917 commissioning targets only. Set to the default value of No to limit to the Main Survey Targets.

Telescope

Allows for selection of either the 2.5m APO (Sloan Foundation telescope), which was employed in the main survey, or the 1.0m APO (NMSU telescope), which was employed for supplemental programs.

Field

Permits the entry of a specific field (e.g. N4147), empty field entry for the search of all 440 fields in Data Release 13, or start to type to use the auto-completion. Note that the majority of fields are labeled by galactic longitude and latitude, XXX[+/-]XX, though there are several exceptions (Kepler fields, clusters, etc.).

Reduction ID

If available for a target, allows for a search with an alternate catalog identification (e.g., HD*, BD*, etc.). Note, for targets with no readily-available alternate ID, the Reduction ID defaults to the 2MASS ID.

Plate

Enter a specific plate (e.g. 4946) or leave empty for all, or start to type to use the auto-completion.

MJD

Enter a specific mjd (e.g. 55732) or leave empty for all, or start to type to use the auto-completion.

FiberID(s)

Enter a range or a list (e.g. 1-20, 24) or leave empty for all, or start to type to use the auto-completion.

Multiple values for the Plate-MJD-FiberID can be entered in the Bulk Search Fields tab.

Minimum Combined S/N

Allows for the selection of targets based on the median signal-to-noise per pixel in combined frame, derived at APOGEE visit spectra combination (apStar).

RA / Dec

Enter the search coordinates by specifying both the right ascension (RA) and declination (Dec) in either decimal (°) or sexagismal (H:M:S for RA, D:M:S for Dec) with a default search radius of 1 arcmin (1/60th of a degree).

Multiple values for the RA-Dec can be entered in the Bulk Search Fields tab.

Location ID

Allows for searches of the field Location ID, which has a 4-digit format XXXX. Note that targets observed with the 1.0 m telescope have Location ID set to 1.

APOGEE ID

Permits searches for a desired target with a 2MASS identifier with format 2MXXXXXXXX[+/-]XXXXXXX. Entry of "2M" plus a few numbers initiates auto-complete.

You may type (or paste) or upload a list of bulk searches with one set of comma separated values per line, for the following fields:

Plate, MJD, FiberID

Type, paste or upload a list of comma separated Plate, MJD, FiberID values, each on a separate line.
Single values for the Plate and MJD can be entered in the Basic Search Fields tab.

RA (°), Dec (°)

Type, paste or upload search coordinates by specifying a list of comma separated RA (°), Dec (°) values, each on a separate line, in decimal (°) with a default search radius of 1 arcmin (1/60th of a degree).
Single values for the coordinates may be entered in the Basic Search Fields tab.

APOGEE ID [, Location ID]

Type, paste or upload a list of APOGEE_IDs, each on a separate line, optionally including a comma separated Location ID for each APOGEE ID.
Single values for the APOGEE ID [, Location ID] may be entered in the Basic Search Fields tab.

For each of the following bitmasks, you may select from the displayed list of flags, specifying either the match any/all option. Alternatively, select bitmask=0 to obtain all results without any flags set for that bitmask.

APOGEE_TARGET1

Select from APOGEE target bits (continues in APOGEE_TARGET2).

APOGEE_TARGET2

Select from APOGEE target bits (continues from APOGEE_TARGET1).

Redshift

Select redshifts, classes, and zwarnings to correspond to either z (default) or z_noqso.

RA/Dec

Select coordinates to be returned in either Sexagesimal (RA in H:H:S and Dec in D:M:S) or decimal (°).

RA / Dec Search Range (arcmin)

Select the search radius for coordinate (RA/Dec) searches or leave empty for the default range of 10 arcmin (1/60th of a degree).

Download spec as

Set the download option to obtain spec (fits) files either in lite (default) or full format (spec data model).
