i have an image to upload of me a better one but i have no idea how to upload it can you help if you can email me i can send you the image again thanks so much for doing my page i don't want it to be deleted - its so wrong what donnie park has done ;'( Kevinhealey33 (talk) 14:03, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Kevinhealey33. You did indeed use my talk page correctly. If you are this Kevin Healey, you're welcome, but note that I would have done the same for any article I came across that had been nominated for deletion but which I could find sources to establish notability for. Incidentally, Donnie Park did not do anything wrong per se by nominating the article for deletion; Wikipedia requires that all articles demonstrate the notability of their subjects, and before I added reliable sources to it, that article had not done so.
To upload an image, look at the left-hand sidebar on any Wikipedia page where it says "Tools", click "Upload file", and follow the on-screen instructions. You will probably have to fill out something called an OTRS ticket, to verify that the person who uploaded the photo owns the rights to it and licenses it for use on Wikipedia (this means you have to allow anyone to use it for any purpose, including for profit), but that can be taken care of after you have uploaded the photo. Bear in mind that usually the person who owns the copyright of a photo portrait is not the person portrayed, but the person behind the camera.
Welcome to Wikipedia! Sorry about the less-than-warm welcome. Since you're here, I hope you'll stick around and contribute. Wikipedia can always use more of us autists.   If you have any questions, feel free to ask me; or, since I'm not around 24/7, you could try the Teahouse, a friendly place to learn about editing Wikipedia. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 14:46, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
In case you aren't coming back to Wikipedia to look for responses, I am going to send you (or Kevin Healey, if you are not him) a message on Twitter. (Hopefully I will use that medium correctly, despite being a Twitter novice.) I have created a Twitter account for this purpose with the username GrammarFascistW (W for Wikipedia, as plain GrammarFascist was taken by someone not me); I'm posting this information here so that there will hopefully be no questions as to whether the same person is really behind both my Wikipedia account and my Twitter one. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:58, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

hello this is really confusing for me i don't know really how to use this i logged in with kevinhealy33 earlier but i can't log back in so i had to create a new account, i did a password and forgot email, but said acc not recognised, i have changed my petition wording, i see that Donnie park has not responded to you, and I'm afraid il keep petition open until i get an apology as you did agree with me he was not very nice to me, theres a way of treating a human being KevinhealeyAutism (talk) 23:00, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

i can't upload a image replace image its saying something about a template I've been trying it for one hour now i give up, can i email you the image to upload or you can email me my email address is on my twitter profile, thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinhealeyAutism (talkcontribs) 23:09, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry you're having so much trouble, Kevin (may I call you Kevin?); it took me forever to get a Twitter account set up and figure out how to send tweets and see where they were going — at first they seemed to just disappear! I appreciate your willingness to change the text of the petition. I do think you should make it clearer that what you object to is the two editors' behaviour after the article was nominated for deletion. In fact it was not clearly established at the time the nomination was made that you were notable by Wikipedia's definition, and there was nothing wrong with either of them saying they did not see evidence of notability, because the evidence wasn't there yet. Bear in mind that on Wikipedia the word "notable" isn't used in its usual, general sense, but has the specific, technical definition I explained on the deletion discussion page. Someone can be notable in the general sense but not in the sense Wikipedia uses; indeed, that happens all the time.
I would instead focus on comments such as (and I apologise for repeating them):
(I would remiss not to warn you that within Wikipedia, it is not permitted to threaten to sue another person for libel.)
Regarding the image, if you're quite sure you own the copyright to the photo, and can promise me you won't take it personally if someone nominates the photo for deletion too (it happens more with photos because Wikimedia is at legal risk if it hosts copyrighted content), I will contact you by email and see about getting it uploaded for use on Wikipedia. Thank you so much for being willing to discuss compromise with me. I really appreciate it, and I hope that Donnie Park is as amenable when he returns from his "Wiki-break". I will be offline for the next few hours myself, after which it will be quite late in the UK, so if you've gone to bed by then, I'll speak with you tomorrow. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 23:56, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

i have removed the petition, however i will not accept rude comments from this subject in question, please do contact me via email and il send you the non copyright photo — Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinhealeyAutism (talkcontribs) 00:25, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

please do email, i would rather connect via email as i don't like using this talk board really thanks. kevin — Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinhealeyAutism (talkcontribs) 00:35, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Donnie Park responds

section header inserted by GrammarFascist contribstalk 13:20, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

I wasn't going to apologise but am I going get an apology first for his and his so-called friends' actions, especially for motioning his lackeys the harassment he caused because ideally I’d be happily to meet them all, rip their heads off and shove it up their ass and what about one for calling me a liar? In addition to this, he should also berate his "friends'" actions on social media for their actions. I'm sure he won't apologise because he is such an arrogant ass who cares about himself more than everything else and I'm happy to do that with him as well.
First of all, if this Kevin is really that notable, why should he worry about notability? Notable people never needed to worry about the notability of their Wikipedia pages as well. What he has done over the days made him come across to everybody else as narcissistic because he came across as if having the article was a form of status symbol. Also, I have written articles about people who I know will pass because they have things that guarantees. To also get the facts right, I wasn’t doing my best to get it deleted as his twitter implied, it was nominated as mentioned because the quality stank and I made this point out number of times which his narcissist self prefer to ignore and being nasty because he interpreted it as that way. He was the one who triggered it first by encouraging his lackeys to troll me and accusing me of being a “troll” and waging a hate campaign because of the nomination; yet, he was the one who appears to have got his excitement from this trolling judging by his posts.
Also, I have absolutely nothing to with anything written about him on social media, so he should stop accusing me of being a troll and anything else to do with twitter/Facebook or whatever site out there. I was focusing on other things on Wikipedia before this Healey subjected me to a hate campaign. Also, why should I be jealous of him like he said on Twitter when I got my own life to be contented with and I don’t need his life neither do I care about it nor it should concerns me either.
He should understand people have got things to do in their lives rather than either playing with twitter like he did a lot of in the days or expect me to respond quickly. Also, I prefer to keep my Wikipedia life separate to my social media life and real life; this is why I don't respond to any of his twitter posts as I prefer to not use it for that.
Maybe he interpreted the nomination as being nasty but where are the evidence of me being nasty to him, maybe I in red mist because he triggered it also he should understand “notability” is subjective and no “notability” are the same, so he should get his facts right? He should understand with his behaviour, people will respond to him that way back.
As with him contributing, I am extremely doubtful that he will contribute to anything useful just because he is in the ASD, as perceived that they have a specialised interest, it doesn’t mean he will contribute to anything useful except for his own gain or articles about himself because I’ve never seen anybody who places as much self-importance as himself ever and I don’t want to hear him using ASD as an excuse. If he ever touches his own page again, I shall slap him with a WP:COI warning.
BTW, as he said, I did not lock the page neither have I deleted this Healey lackey’s comment as I never intended to apply for admin (who have the power to do the former), it was removed by another user because it was posted inappropriately in the wrong place and he encouraged them to post there. I requested it because of the WP:meatpuppet users he brought on.
Just for the record, he should accept that everybody will always have their detractors and not everybody is going to agree with him, not everybody agrees with me either in life and in Wikiepdia and I learned over the years to accept that. Even Taylor Swift, Sepp Blatter, Michael Bay, the late Roger Ebert and everybody out there have their critics out there and accepts it. I thought as said, he runs a charity with an ambition to be globally famous and I thought he should know better.
He can instruct his no-win-no-fee lawyers anytime like he said on Change.org and have threatened me with before previously on Twitter because its him who can’t take criticisms and he can take his lackeys and his meatpuppets with him because he is going to achieve nothing from any of his actions. I just wish I can resume my normal editing duties but not with the campaign he mounted against me, which forced me to take defensive measures.
Healey should thank me for bringing you into this as I mentioned it in an unrelated post because it was what was causing delay to me from other activities within Wikipedia because would you had intervened if I didn't mention so. I've personally never met anybody as self-important self-serving drama queen as this Kevin Healey and is he going to sue me because the way he conducted himself on social media like one because personally I refuse to be intimidated by him neither will I bow down to his cry wolf tactics because I know the way he conducts himself on social media. If he wants to talk about me, he should be transparent and talk about it here. Donnie Park (talk) 04:40, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Donnie Park, I must remind you that Wikipedia policy requires you to assume good faith about other editors, and that civility is one of the five pillars. Technically this does include Kevin Healey, since he has interacted with Wikipedia as an editor. I am trying my best to remain impartial in the dispute between you two; please don't make that more difficult for me. I would appreciate it if you could also explain what harassment of you you are referring to above: did you receive harassing tweets (@ you, as opposed to about you), emails and/or talk page messages? —GrammarFascist contribstalk 09:55, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
He think he has got away because he attempted to cover his tracks by deleting his tweets but luckily, I stayed up till 5am and screen captured them all and downloaded his video from his Facebook page. I will show them to you as I am now in the process of uploading them for you to see and this will be KH's version of a D-Day because he run a UK registered charity, right? What he does not realize is that the other person who he ran a hate campaign again, is also in the ASD as well, which I originally had no intention to mention. Donnie Park (talk) 12:36, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
GrammarFascist ...and now he is trying to report me to the police because I said I "threatened to..." to his so called "friends" if really I had to unless there are evidence that he is them [1] and do note Healey, rather than trying to run away from criticisms, people like you are why I learned to develop a thick skin and have you got an email address or any means of communications so I can send them to you. Donnie Park (talk) 13:04, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I've restored the phrase you deleted from your comment above, with a strikethrough to show that you want to retract it; you may do as you like on your own talk page, but on mine, please strike through any comments you wish to retract, rather than deleting them. (Incidentally, those remarks are the sort of thing you ought to consider apologising for and not merely retracting. Rather than insisting that the other party apologise first, as everyone is inclined to want, please take into consideration the fact that Kevin Healey ended the Change.org petition without even being asked to — I only asked him to modify it in light of the nature of the deletion-nomination process — and bear in mind that you're more likely to get an apology for the remarks of his you found offensive if you apologize for the remarks of yours that he found offensive.) I must ask you again to use civil language when referring to other editors. You're still not quite managing it.
I am also still waiting for you to explain what harassment you have experienced — I am not saying you did not experience any, just that I haven't seen even a description of what the harassment entailed, merely the word harassment by itself.
I'm not sure why you didn't disclose that you have an ASD before now, though I do understand not everyone is proud of it like I am. I would hope that, as a fellow autist, you would be able to understand why Kevin Healey would be more inclined to take the nomination personally. I would also think that you have been a Wikipedia editor long enough to know that it's quite common for the subject of a BLP to take it personally if they learn that the article about them has been nominated for deletion.
My interest in this dispute is in seeing it resolved as amicably as possible, so that we can all get back to building a better encyclopedia. Because I assume good faith, I welcome new editors, even ones who have run afoul of Wikipedia policies they had no way of knowing about beforehand. You've been a Wikipedian long enough that you may have forgotten how much of a learning curve there is; I encourage you to stop by the Teahouse and read the kinds of questions that are common there.
Finally, I will point out that it's difficult to make someone else look bad if one makes oneself look even worse in the process. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 13:20, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
 • GrammarFascist I do like to see it resolved as that I wanted to resume my normal activities, I don't think he is going to have any remorse for his actions and I don't think there is anything for me to apologize ATM.
Since you asked for evidence, I downloaded this from his Facebook page as evidence - I will post the evidence that he motioned his friends to troll me next and some more to go. Donnie Park (talk) 13:50, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for the link to the video, though I'm not sure how long it will stay up as it seems likely to be a copyright violation (you acknowledged you took it from his Facebook page rather than linking to a copy he published himself). Unfortunately I am somewhat hard of hearing, and often find UK accents difficult to parse, so I will need help from my spouse or a friend to transcribe much of the video for me.
Regarding the diff, yes, I can certainly see how a concerted campaign of such comments would constitute harassment... but was there such a campaign, or were there simply a few comments from people with no understanding of Wikipedia policies and some specific misunderstandings of your use of words like "notable", who had reasonable cause to believe that you and Lucylivescot were acting out of malice?
Speaking of Lucylivescot, do you know how she became aware of the deletion nomination in the first place? I saw that you welcomed her to the site. AfD discussions are not a usual place to find new editors unless they created the page in question...
If you truly believe you have nothing at all to apologize for, why did you delete part of your comments above? —GrammarFascist contribstalk 14:18, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

(edit conflict) He said that he "have screened shot recent information what has been said about me and will be instructing my lawyer" rather than remove the campaign altogether, which showed he had no remorse for what he was doing. To be honest, I tried my best to stay calm, even though I had moments of red mist which provoked the responses above as I wanted to get to sleep early. I will apologize to you for conducting it in this page as I only had a few hours sleep because I am still in a red mist and will only apologize for that threat because it was not intended to be for him but am I going to get an apology from him.
These are the evidence, such as calling me Donnie Trailer Park, labelling me as jealous, vile and troll [2] [3] [4] [5] [6][7]
I didn't think I had anything to because but will apologize for being so threatening and it wasn't intended for him, it was a way for me to confront the trolls' comments. Donnie Park (talk) 14:37, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for apologizing for the threatening comment. That was an important step.
Granted I am a novice when it comes to Twitter, but the tweets you screencapped seem to be about you rather than directed at you — that is, they were not sent to you, but instead you sought out a discussion happening about you elsewhere on the internet. (A bit like how Kevin Healey became aware of a conversation going on about him elsewhere on the internet...) I can understand you finding words like "vile" and "troll" used to describe you offensive. Perhaps you can in turn understand Kevin Healey finding words like "narcissistic" and "self-serving drama queen" offensive?
You speak of having "moments of red mist"; I think that this whole situation began with misunderstandings on both sides, and people on both sides getting angry and saying uncivil things as a result. Do you think that's a fair assessment? —GrammarFascist contribstalk 15:07, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
I will take it as it is. Donnie Park (talk) 15:48, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Dialog

KevinhealeyAutism, Donnie Park has acknowledged that this situation began with misunderstandings on both sides, and people on both sides getting angry and saying uncivil things as a result. Can you agree that that's a fair assessment as well?

Please click "edit" next to the bolded word Dialog above, and respond where you see the colon : at the bottom of the edit window. If you want to start "Well, I think..." it should look like :Well, I think... and just begin any separate paragraphs with a colon as well.

Please also "sign" each comment you make on a talk page by typing four ~~~~ tildes at the end. You needn't write out your name or username, the tildes take care of that automagically. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 19:54, 7 November 2015 (UTC)(that's where my tildes were)

I'm not really sure how this works, as i don't use wikipedia, this has been nothing but hassle for me since at the start of this week when i received an email from "alison" (luclylivescot) with a screenshot attachment saying ... your wikipedia will be deleted, signed off Alison, i set the petition up because i felt this was done in Malice as GrammarFascist also stated, i just kept seeing the same posts over and over again, saying He's no notable etc, Donnie i can't control what my followers say about you, on social media Iam not them, they have there own mind.
i did call you a TROLL yes i did because thats how it felt, (because i sa the various exchanges with you and lucylivesot on wikipedia talking about me) i didn't fully understand about the nomination process, i assumed it was a personal attack on me, (before setting it has a deletion, and nominating it for a deletion, why did you not contact me to ask, or ask others to improve the page?... then when i saw an exchange with yourself and lucylivescot on your page, which i can't find there reference too it now it seams to have been deleted, when you were both saying things like he's a drama Queen etc etc , he's not notable, etc etc ...
then on the 7th November you also said, "because i'd be happily to meet them all, rip their heads off and shove it up their a.., and I'm happily to do that for him as well, please let me make this quite clear, i will not tolerate any form of physical threat's, you can't also denie this has its recorded on this site, even if you have ASD this is totally not acceptable to dish out threats of violence, and i will not be intimidated by you, i won't be giving you an apology until you apologise for the threat to rip my head off and retract this which you have already tried to delete this post but is still visible, once you have done that then i will apologise for calling you a troll, as you can see i have deleted the petition, i could have left the petition running, or for that fact re open it has i had lots of supporters signing the petition and commenting on how you behaved, may be there is misunderstandings on both sides, and i just want an end to this, and hope we can move forward, with best wishes Kevin, i do not wish to enter into any further debate about this.KevinhealeyAutism (talk) 00:14, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
(I added a couple of paragraph breaks for clarity) —GrammarFascist contribstalk 04:01, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for coming back to Wikipedia to discuss this situation, KevinhealeyAutism. I will respond point by point.
 • As far as I am aware, there is no evidence that Lucylivescot is the same person as the "Alison" who emailed you to bring the deletion nomination to your attention. Lucylivescot has denied being the same person, so without evidence to the contrary, please behave as if they are two separate people.
 • Please clarify whether it was your intention in posting about the deletion nomination on Twitter that your followers go to Wikipedia to protest the deletion nomination, or that your followers "strike back" for what you perceived as an attack. (Note that it is actually against Wikipedia rules to ask other people to vote a certain way in a deletion discussion; but I understand that you had no way of knowing about that policy.)
 • Donnie Park has apologized for the threat made earlier; it's above, but since there's a lot of text to wade through I'll quote exactly what he said here:
I didn't think I had anything to because but will apologize for being so threatening and it wasn't intended for him, it was a way for me to confront the trolls' comments. Donnie Park (talk) 14:37, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Will you now apologize for calling Donnie Park a troll?
 • I'm very glad to see that you also acknowledge there have been misunderstandings on both sides and want to move forward.
Thank you again for dealing with the unfamiliar interface, Kevin Healey. For your next reply (should you reply again), you would again begin by clicking "edit" next to the bolded word Dialog above, but this time respond where you see three colons ::: at the bottom of the edit window. If you want to start "Okay, but..." it should look like :::Okay, but... and just begin any separate paragraphs with three colons as well. And again, "sign" your comment with ~~~~. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 04:31, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
Firstly, Lucylivescot is alison whom sent me the email, i do have the evidence that it was sent from this person, and do hold the screen shot, her email ends in truest@scot slightly strange wouldn't you agree? (truescot) lucylivescotKevinhealeyAutism
Yes, i mentioned on twitter that my page is up for deletion, and tweeted wikipedia to say, that this person Donnie Park, had infactual information about be and hadn't did id research correctly, its not my problem if my twitter followers post comments on wikipedia, i have over 100k followers i can't control what people do or what people say for that matter, i can't control what my followers say they have there own minds, also i did not ask them to VOTE either, and also i didn't know about wikipedias policy.KevinhealeyAutism
Im. pleased that Donnie Park has now apologised about this quite serious physical threat of violence towards me, it was intended for me and i quote, he said "il rip there heads off" and he stated "I'm happy to do that with him as well" and he can't denie this i have the evidence.
please see above a i have already apologised for calling him a troll and have deleted the petition in question, i called him a troll because the way he acted and behaved, i would have assumed people whom are editors on this platform behave in a reasonable and respectful manner, because of the dialogue Donnie park and Lucylivescot where having a discussion on a talk page and saying various hurtful things about me, thats why i both labelled them as a trollKevinhealeyAutism
for the record now i don't wish to enter into any further debate about this now as i have been deeply hurt and upset what has been said over the last few days, i have spent many hours responding to wikiepdaia and others about this, and i just wan closure with this now, there has been misundersatings on both sides, and both of us have now apologised and i hope we can all move forward, and i wish Donnie park the very best with all his endeavours for the future and wish him all the best, and thank you for opening this dialogue, i have many supporters I'm a fair person, and yes there has been misunderstandings on both sides please can we end this nowKevinhealeyAutism (talk) 11:41, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Resolution

Both parties have acknowledged that the situation arose out of misunderstandings, and each has apologized for what the other indicated they were most offended by. I thank both Donnie Park and KevinhealeyAutism for discussing their dispute more calmly here, and now consider this matter closed. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 13:03, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your efforts in Kevin Healey Donnie Park dispute

Not a conversation per se - so feel free to delete, archive etc. Just wanted to express my thanks for your efforts in bringing this to a sensible close. I have no specific interest in this case but a broader interest in seeing Wikipedia flourish and the ASD community get the support it needs and deserves. Pstansbu (talk) 19:03, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Pstansbu, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your acknowledgment of my work with Donnie Park and KevinhealeyAutism to restore some civility and resolve their dispute. I had been slightly acquainted with Donnie Park previously (I was in the middle of reviewing a DYK nomination he'd made) but had never heard of Kevin Healey before finding the AfD discussion; it was a matter of seeing work that needed to be done and that I thought I might be able to do, which is much of my editing philosophy. Thanks also for your support of the ASD community. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 19:16, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Time for something new

It's been a while since you installed your first script, and I think it's time for some more to help you in your work here. These next ones are not as comprehensive as the first one so I will introduce you to four new at the same time. You install them by copying the codes to your User:GrammarFascist/common.js page the same way you did with the first.

The first one is a very small but convenient tool. The only thing it does is to add a small cyan "aura" to the name of all editors who are admins. This way you instantly know if an admin is around/available/etc. Quite handy. (Documentation here) The code is:

importScript('User:Amalthea/userhighlighter.js');

The second one will enable you to automatically archive posts on talk pages. It may come in handy here since all your (good) work is generating quite a long talk page, and the bot have trouble keeping up with it. :) When installed a new text will appear at every post, similar to the [edit] at each heading. This will be on the same "line" but on the right-hand side and say [Archive]. You click on that and hey presto the post is archived. (Documentation here. Now, I'm terrified that I will archive something by mistake since the Archive-thing is so close to the scroll bar on the page so I keep the script "inactivated" most of the time by putting // in front of it when I'm not using it. I just remove those when I want to use it. You can see this in my common.js and its page history. The code is:

/* User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js */ //importScript( 'User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js' );// Backlink: User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js

The third one is for making it easier when you help other editors with their drafts or in their sandbox(es). By adding it a new line with the word "Subpages" will appear in the "Tools" section in the left-hand column on each page. This way you can simply click on that to get to a special page where all the subpages connected to a page or a user page are listed. The code is:

mw.util.addPortletLink ('p-tb', wgServer+wgArticlePath.replace("$1", "Special:PrefixIndex/"+wgPageName+"/"), 'Subpages');

The last will help you editing overlinked articles. It will add the words "Highlight duplicate links" to the "Tools" section in the left-hand column of a page. When you click on it, all double, triple, etc. links in an article will temporarily get small red rectangles around the links. It works best on the article itself even if the documentation says that it can be done in edit mode. I usually keep two copies of the article side by side on the screen when I edit. One regular and one that I edit. This is how I managed to weed out all the redundant links in this diff. Quite a task otherwise. (Documentation here) The code is:

importScript('User:Ucucha/duplinks.js'); // User:Ucucha/duplinks

Well, that's all for now. There are still more that I think you might like, but we'll save them for a now. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 21:50, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Cart, and thank you again for these very useful-looking scripts. I'm a bit confused about where exactly the archived conversations would go — that is, how the script determines what archive page title to use. The documentation for OneClickArchiver says it goes by "a page's MiszaBot configuration" but User:MiszaBot/config says that's no longer supported. I also can't tell if it matters what order I archive conversations in or if the scrpt will add each conversation in the correct chronological order automatically. As much as my talk page has indeed become unwieldy again, I'm hesitant to use a tool like that without understanding the basics of how it works. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 18:48, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
The script archives pages that are connected with some bot Misza or other. I just assumed you had one on your talk page. Even if MiszaBot is now out, its duties has seamlessly been taken over by some other bot performing the same duties. As most talk pages for articles etc. are connected to the bot system the OneClickArchiver can be used on those as well. Bots create new archive pages automatically according to the settings in the code, for it and archive threads in chronological order as determined by when the last post of the thread was made. You can set the frequency yourself. If you archive anything with the script it will just be added to the next available place in the archive regardless of when the posts were made. The archiving system just cut and paste texts from the talk pages to the archive, there is no sophisticated sorting system involved. The bot will also add an archive header that I see is missing from your archive. This header protects the archive from being easily edited by mistake. Look in my archive and you will see it. The system also makes it easier to search the archive through the search box, which is much better than looking for just the date, especially after a year or so when you have forgotten the date. Do you want me to set up an archiving system for you? Otherwise you can copy the code for it from the top of my talk page or see below. You will have to adjust the parameters to your preferences though. Once you have it in place you can make a dummy section on your talk page and archive it to see how it is done. or you could do some housekeeping on an article talk page that has a archiving bot system, like this one. Try clicking-archiving the oldest post there (presently one of mine, and as you can see from it the bot can not archive things that are not signed=time stamped, that will have to be done manually using the script). Here is a the code you could add to your talk page to keep it tidy:

It will start to archive things to User talk:GrammarFascist/Archive 3 since the first two are already made. It will make a new archive page after 70K of text. It will leave at least six threads on the page no matter what. It will archive threads one at the time once they have become 20 days old. You can alter these parameters if you like. w.carter-Talk 20:55, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
Also a note about what PrimeHunter once told me: You can not just click-click-click on a page to archive, you have to wait a little while between the clicks to let the system reset, otherwise the formatting in the archive will be screwed up. w.carter-Talk 21:00, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
I just realized that I had delivered the code for the OneClickArchiving to you in its inactivated form. I just copied it from my js as it was. To activate it you need to remove the two // just before the word "importscript", I spoke of earlier so that the code is:
Active: /* User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js */ importScript( 'User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js' );// Backlink: User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js
Inactive: /* User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js */ //importScript( 'User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js' );// Backlink: User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver.js
Look in the editing window where change is easier to see. So, So, So, Sorry!!! Did I mention that I sometimes screw up things? w.carter-Talk 18:03, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

All the things that goes on the common.js page are a bit tricky, since you are the only one who can edit it. I can not help you correct things like the on/off function above since your page is locked to me and everyone else. w.carter-Talk 18:08, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

I was just coming to ask whether I should remove the first or second // or both.   No harm done. Now I'll go give it a try! —GrammarFascist contribstalk 18:44, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Seems to be working ok. :) Now, test it on an article talk page. Archive the oldest (my) post on this. w.carter-Talk 19:01, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Template:Did you know nominations/WT1190F

You are invited to join the discussion at Template:Did you know nominations/WT1190F. Hi, today is 10 November, that article is expected to feature on main page within 2 days as you said in your comment. You have not informed involved editors on their talk page when you reviewed that article. Pinging them may not have much impact. Thank you. Thanks. Human3015TALK  12:32, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Human3015, you're absolutely right that I should have followed up on one or both talk pages. This one simply slipped my mind. I'll get on it right away and with a little luck it might still hit the Main Page on a timely date. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 12:50, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Archive fixed

I went ahead and added the talk archive navigation to the top of your first archive pages. This was not done on the three first pages since you started two of those manually and the third one was in between the systems. This header will prevent people from accidently edit in the archive since the header disables all but the top [edit] buttons. It also incorporate the first pages into the system for searching. I hope you don't mind me doing this, it was easier to "do" than to explain. ;) Everything seems to be in good shape now, and your talk page is much more accessible. I hope you liked the other scripts as well and have some use for them. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 15:57, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, Cart! I had that on my to-do list, but other things on the list had higher priority. I definitely don't mind you lending a hand. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 23:37, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I do have some additional sources, but I just really have trouble adding anything to Wikipedia properly. The site makes me dizzy. The latest references include:

Hey, I'm fine with adding the font info, I'm just curious if it's correct to double up on the info like that since it is already in the box (and should Aldus be added in the sentence) or what's the rule(?) here. Or is there one? Asking here only because it's more of a ? about how those article boxes are or should be used (and not about the article itself). Thanks! --MurderByDeadcopy"bang!" 20:30, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello, MurderByDeadcopy, thank you for following up. The "article boxes" are called infoboxes, and you can read about how they are meant to be used at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes. The main point relevant to the edit of yours that I reverted is that information in infoboxes, like information in the lead section of an article (the paragraph or paragraphs above the table of contents), is intentionally redundant. Both the infobox and the lead section serve to summarize some of the most important information in the body of the article. See also Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section. Thank you for trying to improve Wikipedia. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me here, or to visit Wikipedia:Teahouse again. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 21:30, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
FYI - I'd support your run for ArbCom! --MurderByDeadcopy"bang!" 06:27, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
That's heartening, MurderByDeadcopy, thank you. I've decided, after discussing the matter with other editors on-Wiki, and with friends and family off-Wiki, that I will not be running this year; but I may run next year. If you are still an active editor then, your support would be welcome. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 10:01, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

I answered your initial question on my talk page, but then did a little research and found what I was looking for...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Opportunities_for_commonality

I think that would cover using the word "while" instead of "whilst" - no non-American English speaker is going to be confused with the word "while" and it's rather strange for Americans, so a commonly understood word (while) would seem sensible. Spacecowboy420 (talk) 14:15, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

That's an excellent point, Spacecowboy420. I knew about the commonality guideline but hadn't been thinking of it in the context of "whilst" since it isn't entirely unknown in US English. Thanks for the reminder! I'll change the whilsts to whiles. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 14:22, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
I changed "whilst" to "while" - I thought it might be better coming from a British English speaker than... I'm assuming that you're American, so I guess than from an American English speaker. Spacecowboy420 (talk) 07:28, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, Spacecowboy420! —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Your ACE question

I take particular objection to your asking people if they are cis or trans in an election. First of all, if people don't answer questions on that page, especially fully, for the people that read them that's a sign that they are unwilling to be open with the community. It then negatively affects their candidacy. Second, to speak specifically to the cis or trans part, it's very inappropriate and rude to ask someone if they are transgender. Think, would you go and ask someone that question randomly out in public? To quote one of many texts:

Some transgender people feel comfortable disclosing their transgender status to others, and some do not. Knowing a transgender person's status is personal information and it is up to them to share it. Do not casually share this information, or "gossip" about a person you know or think is transgender. Not only is this an invasion of privacy, it also can have negative consequences in a world that is very intolerant of gender difference - transgender people can lose jobs, housing, friends, or even their lives upon revelation of their transgender status.
— GLAAD, Tips for Allies of Transgender People, Accessed 15:36, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

-- Amanda (aka DQ) 15:36, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

DeltaQuad, I made it very clear in the phrasing I used that all of my demographic questions were optional and to be answered only in so far as candidates were comfortable answering them, and also my reasons for asking any demographic questions at all: to improve the diversity of ArbCom. Many cisgender people simply don't have the necessary background to adjudicate cases involving transgender topics and/or editors (including harassment of trans editors), although some do. If you've seen the RfC about wording in BLP articles about or mentioning trans people, then you must surely be aware this is an issue. This situation is not comparable to "go[ing] and ask[ing] someone that question randomly out in public". In any case, I'm genderqueer myself and hardly need a lecture on trans issues. It seems we will simply have to agree to disagree. Thanks for your input. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 15:50, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
Might it might be more profitable to address that topic directly, rather than obliquely through the lens of personal identification? Just a thought! MarkBernstein (talk) 21:42, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
With regard to Rich's answer, I don't think it's very unlikely somebody would not identify with any ethnicity, in particular; I do not. In this context, to "accept" those categories might mean to agree with being placed in one of those categories. Alakzi (talk) 21:49, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
A claim to be of no ethnicity would be telling in its own way. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Just for your information, I have decided to answer all your questions directly on my userpage, as I feel that if certain Arbs (or Arbs to be) are asked the question, that I should be answering it also. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 00:23, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the update, Amanda, and congratulations on having the courage to openly identify as transgender. I don't quite follow why you think ArbCom being asked about their gender means you should disclose that information as well, but I respect your choice regardless. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

  The Guidance Barnstar
Kudos for helping the new editor Arttalk1984 to fixup the needed article on Nahem Shoa. So many newbies are scared off by the trolls and know-it-alls, thankfully you and the Teahouse folk happened to be there to help her/him. How refreshing that a struggling new editor wasn't shot on sight. — Sctechlaw (talk) 02:25, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Hear, hear! w.carter-Talk 08:14, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Aw, thank you both, Sctechlaw and Cart! This is another specific barnstar I had been hoping to earn, so it is especially appreciated. I quite enjoy helping newcomers to Wikipedia bring their drafts up to the standard demanded at AfC; there are many worthy articles whose original drafters simply didn't understand how to cite in order to demonstrate notability. I would rather lend a hand than see a draft never make it to mainspace that should. Thanks again! —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Nobels for India

You mentioned regarding India's entry - "This information is as reported by the Nobel Committee". Please provide link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iball (talkcontribs) 15:10, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Iball, thanks for stopping by. As it says at the top of List of Nobel laureates by country, "The present list ranks laureates under the country/countries that are stated by the Nobel Prize committee on its website.[2]" If you mouse-over or click on that [2] in the article, you will be shown the citation:
2. Chronological list of All Nobel Laureates on the official website of the Nobel Prize committee.
From that page at nobelprize.org, simply click on the name of any Nobel laureate, and you will be taken to that laureate's biographical profile, which includes where they were born, and if the place where they were born was in a different country than it is now. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Did you see the stats? I added it to the archive, sweet! Check your others, and add there if you find more with more than 5000 views, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:11, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi, @Gerda: I usually forget to look at the statistics, honestly. How exciting that some of the DYKs I nominated have gotten so many pageviews! I haven't added any articles to the DYK stats page before; do I just go by pageviews in the month the DYK was on the main page to determine whether the count was high enough? I see that Eicher Polaris Multix had 7858 views back in October when its hook was on the main page — is that the number I would use? —GrammarFascist contribstalk 19:56, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
The number is not the month, but the day (or days) it was on DYK. You get a day's count if you hover over the column, in this case 6,787. Go ahead and try to add it to the stats, in October 2015, not yet archved. - I will watch it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:08, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)@Gerda Arendt: I had no idea you should add views for DYKs (over 5000) to the statistics yourself. I always thought that was an automatic function. Silly me! Thanks for letting me know. Too. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 20:30, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Gerda, I'm not sure what you mean by "hover over the column" — do you mean somewhere on the grok.se page? Or am I looking on the wrong page / site entirely? (P.S. Hi Cart!) —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:38, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi y'all! Not exactly. You need to click on the "90" days to see the date of the DYK. w.carter-Talk 20:43, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Go to the article talk and click on "check views", --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:48, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
(edit conflict)See that spike in the chart? Hover and the number 6787 appears. w.carter-Talk 20:49, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Here is some help and comfort.
Okay, I found a way to get the numbers by day, by clicking the "This page in json format" link. Then I realized that the main problem was that I'd neglected to allow scripts from grok.se, so my NoScript browser extension was preventing the chart from displaying and I was just getting text. D'oh. Thanks for your help, both of you! I'll get on with adding Multix to the page. Fingers crossed that I do that right at least.  GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:56, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Sure you will!   w.carter-Talk 21:06, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I seem to have put it in the wrong position on the chart, Cart, but Gerda fixed it for me. Thanks again to you both! —GrammarFascist contribstalk 20:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Edit and sources.

The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived.

I see the link referencing the publication being discussed and am glad that you have taken the time to review the dispute. Your reference to require a secondary source is patently absurd as even DC comics published once and is done for characters. Their own reference does not make the reference any more valuable for historic references. Both DC publication and the Heights are referenced in the Library of Congress, so publications both have secondary sources unlike high school papers. IT IS this reference you yourself seem to think makes it inclusive to Wikipaedea. For this reason there should be an inclusion of this character and timeline as the sources are supported for both and origination as stated as the earlier date referenced. Not every book is referenced by its source and even the Bible that has been republished almost an uncountable amount of times does not require the original author to be referenced by a secondary source. I consider your guide like the Overstreet guide as a reference to only commercial publications but not all publications of character or storyline. Spiffiest (talk) 22:42, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

I moved this conversation back to the Teahouse where it began, partly so there's no question as to whether the advice I give is simply one editor's opinion. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 05:43, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
