editInherited from Malay gudang, from Tamil கிடங்கு (kiṭaṅku, “store room”), from Proto-Dravidian [Term?]. Cognate of Kannada ಗದಙ್ಗು (gadaṅgu), Malayalam കിടങ്ങു (kiṭaṅṅu).
