Overall: —valereee (talk) 13:57, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Good to go. ALT0 just makes it under 200. I usually am not a fan of 'first woman' hooks as I always wonder if there isn't something more interesting about the person, but in this case this is a huge frickin' deal, so I'm going to state a preference for ALT0 followed by ALT1. I actually think you could make either more interesting and feel less wordy by tweaking the cast to 'that bass is not only the first woman to x, but also the first person of'; if you'd like to suggest an ALT0a and ALT1a with that tweak, ping me and I'll come back. Nice work on your first article! I see that she's due to be promoted August 14, I think you could request this run that day. If you want to make that request, leave a note here for the promoter. —valereee (talk) 15:25, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Valereee: Thank you for your review and tweaks. I like the wording you suggest and made ALT0a. I also request Aug 14 if that is possible. Seven Pandas (talk) 16:41, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- ALT0a also approved after a tweak to shorten to under 200 characters. Promoter note nom's IAR date request. —valereee (talk) 16:52, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Seven Pandas, I've moved this to the special event holding area to run on Aug. 14. Can you please prepare a ALT wording for "today" since it'll run the day she's promoted? The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 04:50, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
Approving ALT0b. --—valereee (talk) 12:40, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- I've struck the unused hooks, and suggest this grammar tweak for ALT0b:
- ALT0b-a: ... that today JoAnne S. Bass (pictured) becomes not only the first female senior enlisted member of any US military branch, but also the first person of Asian descent to hold that position in the Air Force? Yoninah (talk) 11:38, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Approving ALT0b-a —valereee (talk) 14:34, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
"First female senior enlisted member of any U.S. military branch" ?
What about Rear Admiral Grace Hopper of the U.S. Navy ?
Just curious. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 12:59, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
