Igor Inc.

I was trying to add Igor to the Product Naming page, where there were already 7 naming companies. What is unique about Igor is their FREE naming guide which is on their main page and describes their process and is available to anyone who wants it unlike other naming companies. Was wondering why you allowed the other naming agencies but not Igor? I added Igor to the disambiguation page and the naming company page...but have yet to figure out how to add it to the main Wikipedia cuz it might get deleted again. The DL Show

Hi

I was creating a page for The DL Show and it was deleted before I was even fineished. I'm not sure why. we do the same thing as Funny Or Die but we do it with musicians instead of comedic actors and you have a page for that site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funny_or_die . So how do I create my page?

Thanks for the guidence but I have not been spamming onto other atists' pages. I have spoken to every artist that I placed a link on and they asked that I placed it there.

So what you are saying is since I work for AOL I can not create a page for the above mentioned site?

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheDLShow (talkcontribs) 23:56, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So I read your doc and now get that I can't start the page. Thanks you for pointing me in the right direction. Now for the links to external sites that I had placed, that give specific incite to either the artist or musical/musically influenced genres that are were not spam as I understand it and as defined by what wikipidia considers spam. So I am hoping that you could replace those that you linked to and saw that it was really informative on the topic.

Thanks again the guidance.

Edits on christ college brecon page

I have noteced that you have deleated entire sections of the christ college artical. I would like to point out that the names of the house and comnon slang within the sckool is encyclopedia information as it relates to the school and visiting parents can often be confused by the slang. I appreciate that Some people are abusing the artical but that by no means that you can remove the sections copleatly. I try to remove unrelevent comments (like that of Josh lewis)and I would apriciate if you would alow some things to remain on the site.

Strange behaviour of reference list

Once again me ;) - Look at this strange behaviour of a reference list of Web.com: if you click on one of the last entries, the bottom of the page will wrap up and the browser will not follow the link, only if you click a second time. Happens only in Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.15) Gecko/20080623 Firefox/2.0.0.15), not in IE 7. --Peter Eisenburger (talk) 14:24, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Web.com

Please see my latest additions to clear the name Web.com. Interesting, isn't it? If you check the origins of Interland, it get's even more complicated. Still not totally satisfied because there remain some inconsistencies in the article IMO which I will take care of later. But as the change of name is still very fresh, it could stay this way for now, I think.--Peter Eisenburger (talk) 18:14, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[[reply]

Re: your message on my talk page. Thank you once again for extensive copyediting and fixing the wrapping up of the Web.com article. I will take care of the reference format next time. It's not easy to keep up with the standards changing.
I have two questions and one gift for you ;) First question: what do you think about the new vertical format for references that I got to know and lately have used? Second question: is indended text in the references not allowed? I never noticed problems before.
And my gift is a virtual cookie. You must be hungry from too much working ;)--Peter Eisenburger (talk) 13:41, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MascotGuy is up late tonight...

I tell you, GD, I am SO sick of that guy I can't stand it. As User:Animal Guy, he created a slew of redirects and actually did one or two quasi-legit articles. Problems: The redirects are way too many to tag individually and a speedy notice I'd put on a "legit" article about a Charlie Brown special was reverted by another admin. It may be legit, but the fact remains that MascotGuy is hard-banned and that no edit of his, legit or no, can stay. If you look at my own edit history, you'll see that I was extremely busy rolling back his edits on Friday night. It's late here, I need to sign off and get up in the morning (thankfully for a fun day), so I'll say good night and thank you. I really appreciate your defending me when I'd retired. That threat really shook me up and I was serious about leaving, but Comcast is looking into it and the responsible party is yukking it up on Grawp's talk page at Encyclopedia Dramatica. Internet's a weird place, my friend. Thanks for being so normal.  :) Talk to you soon. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:37, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, ha.  :)) To be honest, I'd never heard of the site prior to my run-in with that character. It's just...wrong. No place I wish to visit again anytime soon. As far as MascotGuy is concerned, I've raised a stink with the Wikimedia developers, left word with b'crats and Jimbo himself and nothing is happening. If he's editing from the same place as he always has, we know his physical location, the IP provider and the name on the account, for heaven's sake. I don't want any harm to come to him, but isn't it about time the people who run this dog and pony show give we who slave in their trenches just a little consideration in this matter and file a complaint with the IP for a TOS violation? Oof, I gotta go to bed. Anyway, stay normal. Or better still, abnormal. More fun that way. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 08:10, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yo, bro.  :) I had an idea regarding our leetle frien' which I just ran by NawlinWiki via e-mail. I'll let you know the moment I hear back. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:11, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK, NawlinWiki seems to be for the idea I've posted on the AN board. Namely, MascotGuy should be allowed to edit, but closely monitored. His last few attempts actually seem to be in good faith. It would have to be under closely guarded conditions, though. I'd be willing to accept the responsibility of monitoring his progress. It's a win-win situation for everyone. He gets to edit as long as the edits remain accurate, the admins don't have to play whack-a-mole and we get an editor who's certainly shown his willingness to cooperate. So, whatcha think? --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, he is in a notable band. Fusebox Funk is all over the place. Google the band please. He is also the live bassist for J.Dash, which opens for major label hip-hop acts like Method man, Redman, Lil' Wayne, Flo-Rida...ect. He is endorsed by Warwick basses, a HUGE bass guitar manufacturer. He's a significant musician. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teamxrsx (talkcontribs) 19:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Deletion of Jemima's Witnesses

I am looking to have Jemima's Witnesses reinstated as an article. We feel that what you read was a misjudgment of the page itself. You deleted it on the grounds it was a "group", but every other religion could be considered a "group" as well. I find it a slight impedance on the Constitutional rights of Freedom of Speech and Religious Freedom. Please reconsider your decision. Furthermore, the leaders of Jemima's Witnesses will make it a point to improve this article and we would be more than happy to work with Wikipedia to make it work. A couple of weeks ago you deleted all of my external links. Regarding passoverkosher.com

1. This website provides in depth information to consumers and is already quoted on Wikipedia. It is an important external link like chabad.org & askmoses.org

2. You indicate that it seems to be for advertising, where do you see that???

3. You say to place it on the talk page, well I did just that & no one responded???

Sprinkz

Hello. I recently created an article that has not been created yet, titled "SprinkZ". It is about a social networking website. Just a quick note on wonder why it may have been deleted? I understand that you believe the article is not notable and should not be in wikipedia, however, out of my current beliefs, it should. Many people search for wiki's on websites to see how they work, and what may be currently going on with them, who created them, all on one page, also through the factor that wikipedia has many websites which flow around it. When a website is googled for example, the first or second link to appear would be the wikipedia link for further information. You may not believe I have a valid comment stated above, however, consideration of it will be great. Thank you for your time. Mooose223 (talk) 22:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC) Moose F[reply]

I saw you protected Wake Technical Community College and Tobacco packaging warning messages, for good reason obviously, but I would like to keep them unprotected. All the vandalism is from Fumer tue (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and I just filed another RFCU on him here. I wish my comments to be removed on another user's talk page, can you please help me out in keeping them deleted? To a note, the comments are not rude or etc at all. I simply wish them to stay gone.— dαlus Contribs /Improve 07:13, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Gogo

I read the statement about writing articles on yourself, however don't you think creating a film is something of interest? The buz around the film is just starting.

I could have easily created a fake email account and submitted the article as someone else. Would this be preferred?

Please help me to understand the best approach?

1. How many films do I need to get my own wiki page? 2. Should I create a fake email to submit? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seancloutier1684 (talkcontribs) 19:28, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Film and Video Umbrella

Hi, I am trying to create a wikipedia page for an arts organisation in the UK called Film and Video Umbrella. I work for the organisation as a web administrator. Previous attempts to add content relating to this organisation have been deleted by yourself and one of your colleagues under the A7 and G11 speedy deletion clauses. I am not aware of what the previous content said, but to address A7 - doesn't indicate importance/significance: Film and Video Umbrella is a not for profit, arts council england funded organisation that commissions and curates artists films. They have worked with venues such as Tate, British Film Institute, Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) and with artists such as Corey Arcangel, Gillian Wearing and Tacita Dean. All of these venues and artists have articles on wikipedia and are obviously considered significant enough to be on the site.

To address the second issue of 'blatant advertising' I am aware that this is a pitfall of writing about an organisation that you are involved with but i'm sure that some of the wikipedia pages for the venues I have mentioned must have written their own content, otherwise who would do this? Please let me know if you have some advice about the encyclopaedic tone required to validate a page, and please if possible communicate with me before you place any more blocks on the Film and Video Umbrella page. Many thanks Victoria KingVicki78king (talk) 16:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need Advice

Gogo Dodo,

I am facing a dilemma right now. This user's edit is tagging along with one of the IPs that a flagrant sockpuppeteer is making these days (the edits are legit, but that is a characteristic of his: making legit edits until no one believes he is harmful, then start vandalizing), and I believe that the user in question is a sockpuppet. However, I don't want to bite a new user (if he is legit). I don't know what to do. What should I do? Arbiteroftruth (talk) 04:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anastasiya Markovich (Born October 23, 1979, Brichany, Moldavia) is Ukraine lady-painter. She is best-known through her paintings and exhibitions. Her paintings are by collectors in several countries.

Early life and background

Anastasiya Markovich is the older of two children of Viktor Markovich and Irena Markovich (née Moskvina). She has a brother Yuri. The entire family is active in the profession of expressive arts.

Anastasiya Markovich entered in 1985 the lyceum in Chernivtsi and graduated in 1996. Parallel studied Anastasiya from 1990, on the Chernivtsi Art School; she graduated in 1994 with the best marks. Anastasiya took part in a number of children and youth exhibitions and won some competitions. In 1996 Anastasiya Markovich entered Chernivtsi Academy of Law and Economics, department Law with the directions criminal law, civil law and trade law. For her art-profession, which was her final decision she went for further additional studies to studios of other painters, like Dariusz Milinski and Tomek Setowski. She is now working in her town Chernivtsi in the south-west of the Ukraine.

Painting style

Her painting style is a complete new style for her country and in this form doesn’t exist in the Ukraine. With this painting style not only a new style, but also new era is started in her country.

  • Unprotect the page if protection is no longer needed, or

I hope that you will do one of the two in order to reduce the backlog of pages that have been semiprotected for very long period of time. Citizens Campaign for the Environment

Why did you delete the page I started on Citizens Campaign for the Environment? "to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable." If you are going to cite A7 then please at least be consistent! Tresdessert (talk) 16:07, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do wonder where you quoted that line from, because I have never seen it before. If a subject does not indicate why it is notable, from significant 3rd party sources which are not trivial, then it may be deleted. Edit to Page - Animal Love

Hello,

You just deleted our addition to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_love

The history page says you did such because it was spam. We feel we made a valid neutral contribution to the definition based on factual information.

Yes it is a business but the name of the business is "Animal Love" and the organizations philosophies have everything to do with the majority of the page content.

Besides the above we did not add this information to SPAM as the addition of NOFOLLOW to all external links makes that impossible.

Please reinstate the addition.

My addition to a page deleted

Hi there, A day or so ago I had added a addition to the page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free_first-person_shooters.

The gamemaker (Joel Huenink) actually asked me if I could go there and add Gore: SE to the list so I went there and signed up and added Gore: Special Edition to the list. Not long after I added it someone by the name of Marasmusine deleted it with the reason of "rm gore; no article, no claim of notability, no independent references". I undid the delete and then you deleted it again not to long after. I just wanted to ask what is it that I did wrong? The game maker (Joel Huenink president of 4D Rulers) want's to get the word out about Gore: SE (about it being a new free game for people to download). And when he seen that page he thought it would be the perfect place to get the word out.

  • Gore: Special Edition is a free game
  • 4D Rulers is a legit game company
  • Joel Huenink is the president of 4D Rulers

All the info I Posted on the game was indeed the truth and not some bs crap. I did have the Gore: SE name in the list with a link to the game makers website (so people could click on the name and find the website and download the game if the chose to. I'm wondering if that was breaking the rules? Right now Gore: SE does not have a "WIKI" page for it, although there is a WIKI page for Gore: The Ultimate Soldier (same game but a much older version). That page is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gore:_Ultimate_Soldier

Anyway I was just wondering what I did wrong as I am new here at Wikipedia and again we just wanted to get the word out about Gore: SE and that page was the perfect place to add the information on it (as the page is for Free FPS games and Gore: SE is a Free FPS game).

Can you please reinstate my page on wikipedia?

Hello.

I was the creator of the autobiographical entry entitled " Adam Stirling". I feel that I put in a significant amount of time and effort into creating this page, and am disappointed that you flagged it for speedy deletion. I would like to point out to you that my entry into wikipedia, while to an impartial observer may seem irrelevant, has notability in being autobiographical. I have read the guidelines as to what wikipedia is and is not, but I still feel that my own autobiographical information has notability, and preventing it from reaching others is an unnecessary restriction.

Please, I would be grateful for you to reinstate my wikipedia page.

I like how annoying it must be for him to have to accept that a robot reverted his threat to hack me!

Demar DeRozan/Samardo Samuels

I created pages for both these basketball players about a month ago but today they got deleted for some reason. Can you tell me why. Thanks. Ice (talk) 17:46, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now that college is getting underway and basketball season starts next month can I re-create the Demar DeRozan page? Ice (talk) 20:40, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I dont see what the problem is with creating the page because he is a college basketball player and there are pages for other college basketball players like Kyle Singler, Blake Griffin, Ty Lawson, and a bunch more. Sorry if I am bothering you I am just trying to get this right. Ice (talk) 01:22, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew_Douglas_Picken_(writer)

Hi Gogo Dodo,

I have studied this author and his name is actually Andrew Douglas-Picken. I have contributed to this article yes, and gained much of the content from the reference that I put in the article that you referred to but the name in that is incorrect, and i tried to correct that on wikipedia. In hindsight this author is probably not notable enough for wikipedia. He was quite an obscure (and relatively unsuccessful) business person and writer in the 1800's... but was my first go at creating an article. Perhaps I should start with contributing to other articles on wikipedia and we should delete this Andrew_Douglas_Picken_(writer)... Ukliterary (talk) 05:58, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Ukliterary[reply]

Mary Elise

Mary is forming a ministry through her music, her speaking and her writing. Several radio stations are playing her music and we're in the process of promoting her through Premier Christian Productions. She has a presence on maryelise.org, last.fm, shoutlife.com, myspace.com, facebook.com, unsigned.com and ilike.com. Further, she has listeners and supporters, from these aforementioned sites, all over the U.S. Could someone reconsider?

Can you leave it semi-protected permenantly and if possible delete all the revisions prior to 2006. Not sure why anons started editing it. If we remove their garbage they'll likely do what most online trolls do, go away. Gateman1997 (talk) 05:35, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

undelete systemwars.com

Could you please undelete systemwars.com. It is not an attack page. Consider it more of an inside joke. It is a fair representation of this website(systemwars.com) and since Gateman(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Gateman1997/Systemwars.com) won't let us modify his page (which is totally inaccurate BTW)it seems only fitting someone else should build one from the ground up. I realize some of the content may be unorthodox, but also laughably accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Krykon (talkcontribs) 00:15, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hemalayaa deletion

I don't understand why Hemalayaa's Wiki has been deleted. She's an international Yoga instructor and she has her own line of instructional DVDs. She teaches across the world, most recently she is touring the United States with Yoga Month. She's very popular in the yoga community and has been featured on People.com and in several publications. Edit warrior

User:Winger84 is continually adding POV and advertisement tags to the Palin article without providing specifics as to how to improve the article. This has been reverted by numerous editors, myself included. I had to engage the editor on his talk page specifically, reminding him not to edit war and to assert specifics. While communicating with me, he carries on adding these tags. — Realist2 16:55, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And your point is? I have done nothing wrong. The article reads like an advertisement for Governor Palin taken directly from either her website or the Republican Party's... period. I don't appreciate being called an "edit warrior," considering that I have yet to cross the 3RR threshold. I am right up on it, but have not crossed it. I'm sorry that certain users appear to be Republicans and have an issue with their candidate's article being challenged, but my concerns are legitimate. --Winger84 (talk) 17:03, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly Winger84 has expressed the opinion that it isn't neutral and/or is an advertisement. He has not provided any examples to back up his opinion and offers no examples that we can see to improve upon. His neutrality section on the talk page shows that consensus goes against him. — Realist2 17:10, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just started editing it, hit saved. Was editing some more hit saved and you deleted it. I wasn't finished, but the last revision you'll find the importance or significance of the band. I included the hangon link in my editing. I am trying to show that out of all of America a little county located in the bible belt of Ky could be a new haven for metal bands. I was not done editing yet when you deleted it. Who's handling MG now?

After PMDrive's retirement, I've noticed that nobody else has decided to take his place to remove MG. I feel that unless someone is keeping a close eye on him, he'll just end up spawning more account hives and still performing edits when he shouldn't be. Any info on this? treelo radda 10:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody was handling MG, per se, though PMDrive was certainly good at finding him. Other admins have blocked MG sockpuppets in the past. If you find some that need blocking, feel free to drop me a line and I'll block them. I've added his page to my watch list, but I don't monitor his usual targets, so I'm not likely to find his new accounts. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:33, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I mean, he was pretty much the sole person trying to remove him for good even though nobody wants to take action as he's not a Grawp level of vandal. You can't simply keep playing Whack-A-Mole with his sockpuppets each time one pops up and I also reckon keeping a well updated list of his most recent accounts is good either, even he edits it! No, something does need to be done because regardless of if he's being malicious or even editing in good faith, he remains an issue and I'd like to see if those who have dealt with MG in the past can make some form of coordinated effort to get this guy community blocked. I know PMDrive tried very hard, even asking Jimbo and others higher up the food chain than the local admins here for some action and nothing has happened and makes a mockery of the anti-vandal system. treelo radda 10:22, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
